Setup
- Charging the Device: Before initial use, ensure the X431 PRO3S+ host tablet is fully charged using the provided power adapter. The device features a 47880mWh (7.6V, 6300mAh) lithium-ion battery for extended operation.
- Power On: Press and hold the power button on the tablet until the LAUNCH logo appears.
- Initial Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language (25 languages supported), connect to a Wi-Fi network (5G & 2.4GHz Dual Wi-fi for stable communication), and register your device. Registration is crucial for software updates and accessing online features.
- Software Update: After successful registration and Wi-Fi connection, navigate to the "Software Update" section. It is highly recommended to perform a full software update to ensure you have the latest vehicle coverage and diagnostic functions. The device includes 2 years of free updates.
- Connect SmartLink C V2.0: Connect the SmartLink C V2.0 module to the tablet via the provided USB cable or wirelessly. This module acts as the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI).
- Vehicle Connection: Locate the vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic port (typically under the dashboard). Select the appropriate diagnostic cable/connector from the kit and connect it to the SmartLink C V2.0 module, then to the vehicle's diagnostic port. For heavy-duty trucks or older vehicles, use the specific non-16pin adapters as required.

2. J2534 Reprogramming with Smartlink C
The SmartLink C V2.0 module is J2534-compliant, allowing you to perform OEM software downloads and ECU reprogramming.
