Introduction
The Hot Wheels Mario Kart Rainbow Road Raceway track set brings the iconic video game course to life. This 8-foot long track features five translucent rainbow-colored race lanes and can be configured in either a straight or curved layout. It includes an electronic fair start gate with lights and sounds, a finish gate that displays the winner, and interactive Item Box randomizers. The set comes with two 1:64 scale die-cast vehicles: Mario and an exclusive King Boo.

Setup
Assembly of the Hot Wheels Mario Kart Rainbow Road Raceway is straightforward. Follow the included instructions carefully to connect all track pieces, supports, and electronic components. The track can be assembled in two main configurations: a curved, elevated layout or a straight, downhill layout.
Track Assembly
- Unpack all components from the box.
- Identify the base supports and connect them to the main track sections.
- Connect the rainbow-colored track segments to the gray track pieces, ensuring a secure fit.
- Attach the starting gate and finish line gate to their designated positions on the track.

Battery Installation
The electronic features of the track require 3 AAA batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartments on the starting gate and finish line unit. Use a screwdriver to open the compartments, insert the batteries with correct polarity, and secure the covers.
Operating Instructions
Starting a Race
- Place up to five Mario Kart 1:64 scale die-cast vehicles into the starting lanes at the top of the track.
- Ensure the release mechanism is in the locked position to hold the cars in place.
- Press the green button on the starting gate to initiate the countdown with lights and sounds.
- Once the lights turn green, press the red mushroom button to release all cars simultaneously.

Item Box Interaction
As karts race down the track, they will encounter spinning Item Box randomizers. These can either help or hinder a racer's progress, adding an element of surprise to each race.

Finish Line
The first kart to cross the finish line will trigger the electronic scoreboard, which displays the winning lane number with lights and sounds.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Hot Wheels Mario Kart Rainbow Road Raceway, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Regularly wipe down track surfaces and components with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the plastic.
- Store the track set in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- If the electronic features malfunction, check and replace batteries as needed.
Troubleshooting
Cars not racing smoothly:
- Check for any obstructions on the track surface.
- Ensure all track pieces are securely connected and aligned.
- Verify that the die-cast vehicles are clean and their wheels are free of debris.
Electronic features not working:
- Confirm that 3 AAA batteries are correctly installed in the starting gate and finish line unit.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with new ones.
