Setup Guide

Initial Setup of Outdoor Rain Collector

1. Turn clockwise to separate the rain gauge top cover from the rain gauge gently.
2. Remove the paperboard inside the rain collector.
3. Turn counter-clockwise the top cover to re-attach it to the rain gauge.
4. Turn clockwise to separate the rain gauge cover from the rain gauge base gently.
5. Loosen the screw on the waterproof panel.
6. Pull out the waterproof panel gently.
7. Insert 2 x AA batteries into the battery compartment (batteries not included).
8. Fasten the screws on the waterproof panel.
9. Securely re-attach the base to the rain gauge.

Initial Setup of Indoor Display Unit

1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
2. Insert 3 x AA batteries for backup power (batteries not included).
3. Close the battery compartment.
4. Place the main unit and outdoor unit together for about 2-3 minutes. Do not move until the connection is done. (When the outdoor temperature/humidity appears at the bottom of the screen, it means the connection is successful.)

Mounting the Outdoor Rain Collector

1. Locate the three holes on the rain gauge base.
2. Fasten the rain gauge base to a sturdy surface, like a deck railing or a fence post, with screws (included) using hand tools.
3. Ensure the rain gauge is placed on a flat, level surface and is not in a low spot that could be flooded.
4. For optimal wireless range, place units away from large metallic items, thick walls, or other objects.

The outdoor rain collector should be mounted securely on a flat, level surface to ensure accurate rainfall measurement. Avoid locations prone to flooding or obstructions that could interfere with wireless transmission.

Using the Backlight

By pressing the "Light" button below the screen, you can turn on the soft, blue backlight, which will stay on for 10 seconds. This feature is ideal for viewing information in the dark.

Viewing Rainfall History

The unit tracks rainfall totals for the past day, week, month, or total precipitation since the last reset. Use the "RAIN" button to cycle through these history views.
