4.1. Ports and Buttons

• DC-IN Socket: Connects to the power adapter.
• Power Switch: Turns the router on or off.

3. Power On: Connect the power adapter to the DC-IN socket on the router and plug it into a power outlet. Press the Power Switch to turn on the router.
4. Wait for Indicators: Allow a few minutes for the router to boot up. The power LED and WAN LED should turn solid.

1. Connect to the Router:
   • Wired Connection: Connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports (yellow) using an Ethernet cable.
   • Wireless Connection: Search for the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) printed on the label on the bottom of your router. Connect to this network using the default password.
2. Access the Web Interface: Open a web browser and type http://router.asus.com or http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
3. Login: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both, or as specified on the router label).
4. Follow Setup Wizard: The ASUS setup wizard will guide you through configuring your internet connection, Wi-Fi network name (SSID), and password. It is highly recommended to change the default login credentials for security.

• AiProtection: Provides commercial-grade network security, parental controls, and blocks malicious sites. Access and configure this feature via the router's web interface under "AiProtection".

  To set up AiMesh, navigate to the "AiMesh" section in the web interface or use the ASUS Router mobile app.
