3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to remove it.
  3. Insert the two AAA rechargeable batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

3.2 Base Unit Connection

  1. Connect the small end of the power adapter to the 'POWER' socket on the back of the base unit.
  2. Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical wall outlet.
  3. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the 'LINE' socket on the back of the base unit.
  4. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into your telephone wall jack.
  5. Place the handset on the base unit to charge. Allow at least 15 hours for the initial charge.

3.3 Handset Registration

Your handset is typically pre-registered to the base unit. If registration is lost or you are adding a new handset, follow these steps:

  1. On the base unit, press and hold the PAGE button for approximately 5 seconds until the registration indicator light flashes.
  2. On the handset, press the MENU button, then navigate to the 'Registration' option (refer to handset display).
  3. Select 'Register Handset' and enter the system PIN (default is 0000).
  4. The handset will display 'Registering...' and then 'Handset Registered' upon successful completion.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Pick up the handset or press the CALL button, then dial the number. Press END to finish the call.
  • To Answer a Call: When the phone rings, press the CALL button.
  • To End a Call: Press the END button or place the handset back on the base unit.

4.2 Phonebook

  • Adding a Contact: Press MENU, navigate to 'Phonebook', select 'Add New Entry', enter the name and number, then save.
  • Searching for a Contact: Press the PHONEBOOK button, then use the navigation keys to scroll or enter the first letter of the name.
  • Editing/Deleting a Contact: Locate the contact in the phonebook, then select 'Options' to edit or delete.

4.3 Caller ID

The phone displays the caller's number and name (if available in your phonebook or provided by your service provider) for incoming calls. You can review a list of recent calls by pressing the CALL LOG button.

4.4 Ringer Volume

To adjust the ringer volume, press the MENU button, navigate to 'Settings', then 'Ringer Volume'. Select your desired volume level.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the handset and base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, allow the handset to fully discharge occasionally before recharging. Avoid exposing batteries to extreme temperatures.
  • Storage: If storing the phone for an extended period, remove the batteries from the handset.

6. Troubleshooting

Handset display is blankEnsure batteries are correctly installed and charged. Place the handset on the base unit to charge. If the issue persists, try replacing the batteries.
Cannot register handsetEnsure the base unit is in registration mode (refer to section 3.3). Verify the system PIN is correct. Try resetting both the base unit and handset by unplugging and removing batteries, then reconnecting.
