2. Storage
Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, ensure the internal battery is partially charged (around 50%) and recharge it every 3-6 months to maintain battery health. Remove AAA batteries if not using them for prolonged storage.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the internal battery is charged or install fresh AAA batteries. Try hand-cranking for a few minutes to generate initial power.
- Poor Radio Reception: Extend the telescopic antenna fully. Try repositioning the radio, especially near a window or outdoors. Adjust the tuning knob slowly for precise station locking.
- NOAA Alert Not Activating: Ensure the 'WX ALERT' function is enabled. Check if the WX Timer has expired. Verify you are in an area with NOAA coverage.
- Device Not Charging from USB Output: Ensure the radio's internal battery has sufficient charge. Use a compatible USB cable for your external device.
- LCD Screen Not Visible: Press the 'BACKLIGHT' button to activate the screen backlight. If the screen remains blank, the battery may be completely depleted.
