Biling Solar Fountain Pump Kit (Model BSV-SP115) Instruction Manual

For models: BSV-SP115

Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Biling Solar Fountain Pump Kit. This kit is designed to create a water feature in bird baths, small ponds, pools, and garden decorations, utilizing solar power for water circulation and oxygenation.

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your solar fountain pump kit:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Ensure you have the solar panel, water pump, ground stake, and various spray nozzles.
  2. Assemble the Solar Panel: Attach the solar panel to the ground stake. The panel is 180° rotatable, allowing you to adjust its angle for optimal sunlight exposure.
  3. Position the Solar Panel: The solar panel can be screwed onto a wall or inserted into the ground using the stake. Choose a location that receives direct sunlight for the majority of the day. The pump will only operate when the solar panel receives sufficient direct direct sunlight.
  4. Connect the Pump: Connect the water pump to the solar panel using the provided cable. The cable length is approximately 9 feet.
  5. Place the Pump: Submerge the water pump completely in water. Ensure the water level is sufficient for the pump to operate effectively. The pump is small and designed to be easily hidden.
  6. Attach Nozzles: Select one of the four included spray nozzles based on your desired water flow and height. Attach it firmly to the pump's outlet. Refer to the diagram below for nozzle options.

Operating Instructions

The Biling Solar Fountain Pump is designed for simple operation:

  • Automatic Operation: The pump will automatically start working within 3 seconds once the solar panel is exposed to sufficient direct sunlight.
  • Sunlight Dependency: The height and strength of the water spray are directly dependent on the intensity of sunlight. In cloudy conditions or at night, the pump will not operate.
  • Water Level Monitoring: Ensure the pump is always fully submerged in water. The pump has a built-in water sensor and dry-run protection. If the water level is too low, the pump will stop working to prevent damage. A red light indicator will signal this condition.
  • Spray Height: The pump can spray water up to 17 inches (43 cm) in full sunlight, depending on the nozzle used.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your solar fountain pump:

  • Clean the Pump Regularly: Periodically clean the pump to prevent it from getting blocked by dirt, debris, or algae. The pump is designed for easy disassembly and cleaning without tools.
  • Check the Filter Sponge: The built-in brushless motor includes a filter sponge. Inspect and clean this sponge regularly to maintain efficient water flow.
  • Keep Water Level Adequate: Always ensure there is enough water for the pump to be fully submerged. Low water levels can cause the pump to stop operating.
  • Clean Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free of dust or obstructions to ensure maximum sunlight absorption.

Troubleshooting Guide

If your solar fountain pump is not working as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Pump not working / Weak spray Insufficient sunlight Ensure the solar panel is in direct, full sunlight. Adjust its angle if necessary.
Pump not working / Red light on Water level too low Add water to fully submerge the pump.
Pump not working / Weak spray Pump or nozzle blocked by dirt/debris Disassemble and clean the pump, especially the filter sponge and nozzle.
Pump not working Solar panel is dirty Clean the surface of the solar panel to ensure maximum light absorption.
