4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery Life

Battery life can vary depending on usage, settings, and environmental conditions. Users have reported battery life of approximately two weeks with specific settings (e.g., sending pictures twice a day). Regularly check battery levels via the app or physically inspect the cameras.

4.2. Software Updates

Periodically check for and install software updates for your cameras. Updates are typically managed through the SPYPOINT app and can improve performance and add new features. Ensure a stable internet connection during updates.

4.3. Cleaning

Keep the camera lens, infrared LEDs, and motion sensor clean and free from dirt, dust, or debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Signal and Connectivity Issues

If the camera is not connecting or sending pictures, check the cellular signal strength in the area. Signal strength can be affected by terrain, foliage, and distance from cell towers. Moving the camera to a location with better signal or adjusting the antenna might help. Ensure your SPYPOINT app is updated and the camera is properly activated.

5.2. Picture Quality

If picture quality is low, ensure the camera lens is clean. Optimal picture quality is achieved when subjects are within the effective detection and flash range (up to 80 feet). Adjusting camera placement can improve results.

5.3. Software Update Failures

If a software update fails, ensure the camera has sufficient battery power and a strong cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Try restarting the camera and attempting the update again. If issues persist, contact SPYPOINT customer support.
