4.1 Battery Installation

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press the Measurement Trigger. The device will perform a self-test and display the last reading.
- The device automatically shuts off after approximately 18 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.
5.2 Selecting Measurement Mode
Press the MODE button to cycle through the available measurement modes:
- Body Mode: For measuring human body temperature (indicated by a body icon on the display).
- Surface Mode: For measuring the temperature of objects or liquids.
- Room Mode: For measuring ambient room temperature.
5.3 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the correct measurement mode is selected (e.g., Body Mode for forehead temperature).
- Point the thermometer's sensor at the center of the forehead from a distance of approximately 3-5 cm (1.2-2 inches). For surface/liquid/room temperature, point at the desired object/area.
- Press and release the Measurement Trigger.
- The temperature reading will be displayed on the LCD screen within one second.

5.4 Visual Fever Alarm
In Body Mode, if an elevated temperature is detected, the display color will change to visually alert the user to a potential fever.
5.5 Memory Function
The thermometer automatically stores the last 50 temperature readings. To access these readings:
- With the device powered on, press the MEMO button.
- Each subsequent press of the MEMO button will display the previous reading in chronological order.
5.6 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):
- With the device powered on, press and hold the SET button for a few seconds until the unit symbol starts flashing.
- Press the SET button again to toggle between °C and °F.
- Release the SET button to confirm your selection.
