4. Setup

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Grinding Adjustment
The Gaggia MD15 offers 15 grind settings, from very fine (1) for espresso to coarse (15) for French press or filter coffee. Adjust the grind fineness using the rotary knob on the side of the grinder.
- For Espresso: Select settings 1-5.
- For Filter Coffee: Select settings 6-10.
- For French Press: Select settings 11-15.
Note: It is recommended to adjust the grind setting only when the grinder is operating or completely empty to prevent damage to the burrs.

5.2. Grinding Coffee
- Ensure the coffee bean hopper is filled with whole beans and the ground coffee container is in place.
- Select your desired grind fineness using the adjustment knob.
- Press the START/STOP button on the control panel to begin grinding.
- The grinder will operate until the preset time or quantity is reached, or until you press START/STOP again to manually stop it.
- Remove the ground coffee container or place your portafilter directly under the dispenser to collect the freshly ground coffee.

5.3. Using the Digital Timer
The digital display allows you to set a specific grinding time or quantity for consistent results. Use the rotary knob to navigate through the timer settings and the START/STOP button to confirm your selection. 6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Grinding Chamber and Burrs
- Unplug: Always unplug the grinder before cleaning.
