4. Setup and Installation
The VIVIQI WiFi Extender offers a simple setup process. Follow these steps for quick installation:
4.1. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Method

Figure 3: Easy installation and quick positioning using WPS.
- Plug the VIVIQI WiFi Extender into a power outlet near your main router.
- Wait for the Power LED to turn solid.
- Press the WPS button on your VIVIQI WiFi Extender.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your main Wi-Fi router.
- The extender will automatically connect to your router. Once connected, the Wi-Fi LED and Router Connection Status LED should turn green.
- Unplug the extender and move it to a desired location within your home where you need extended Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure the Router Connection Status LED remains green for optimal signal.
4.2. Web Browser Method (Manual Setup)
If your router does not have a WPS button or if the WPS method fails, you can set up the extender via a web browser:
- Plug the VIVIQI WiFi Extender into a power outlet.
- On your computer or smartphone, connect to the extender's Wi-Fi network (usually named something like "WiFi_Repeater" or "VIVIQI_Ext"). Do not connect to your main router's Wi-Fi.
- Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) and enter the default IP address or domain name provided in the quick start guide (often 192.168.1.1 or repeater.net).
- Log in using the default username and password (usually "admin" for both).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your main Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
- Once configured, the extender will restart. You can then unplug it and place it in your desired location.
5. Operating Modes

Figure 4: Working modes of the WiFi Extender.
5.1. Repeater Mode
In Repeater Mode, the device extends the range of your existing Wi-Fi network. It receives the wireless signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, effectively expanding coverage to areas with weak or no signal. This is the most common mode for eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones.
5.2. AP (Access Point) Mode
In AP Mode, the device transforms a wired internet connection into a new wireless network. Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or router to the extender's RJ45 port, and the extender will create a new Wi-Fi hotspot. This is useful for adding wireless capability to a wired-only network or creating a separate Wi-Fi network.
6. Optimal Placement
For the best performance, place the VIVIQI WiFi Extender in a location that is halfway between your main router and the area where you need improved Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference. The Router Connection Status LED (green light) is a good indicator of optimal signal strength from your main router.

7. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Avoid blocking the ventilation holes on the device.
- Periodically check for firmware updates on the manufacturer's website to ensure optimal performance and security.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your VIVIQI WiFi Extender, please refer to the following common solutions:
- No Internet Connection:
- Ensure the extender is properly connected to a power outlet.
- Verify that your main router has an active internet connection.
- Check the Internet Connection Status LED on the extender. If it's red, there's no internet.
- Try repositioning the extender closer to your main router.
- Weak Signal or Frequent Disconnections:
- Relocate the extender to a more central position between your router and the desired coverage area.
- Ensure there are no major obstructions (thick walls, large appliances) between the extender and your devices.
- Check the Router Connection Status LED. If it's yellow or red, the extender is too far from the router or experiencing interference.
- Setup Issues (WPS or Manual):
- Ensure you are pressing the WPS buttons on both devices within the specified time frame.
- Double-check the Wi-Fi password entered during manual setup.
- Try resetting the extender to factory defaults (use a paperclip to press the Reset button for 5-10 seconds) and attempt setup again.
- Ethernet Port Not Working (AP Mode):
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the extender and the modem/router.
- Verify that the RJ45 LED is active.
- Confirm the extender is configured in AP Mode via the web interface.
