3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Component Identification
Before installation, familiarize yourself with the receiver's ports. The FS-R9B features 8 standard servo channels (CH1-CH8), a Battery (BAT) port for power input, and a Bind port for pairing with your transmitter.

3.2. Binding Procedure
Binding is the process of linking the receiver to your Flysky transmitter. This must be done once for each new receiver.
- Ensure your transmitter is turned off.
- Insert the bind plug (often included with the receiver or transmitter) into the "BIND" port on the FS-R9B receiver.
- Connect power to the receiver via the "BAT" port. The receiver's LED should start flashing rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
- While holding down the bind button on your Flysky transmitter (refer to your transmitter's manual for exact location), turn on the transmitter.
- The receiver's LED should stop flashing and become solid, indicating a successful bind.
- Turn off both the transmitter and the receiver.
- Remove the bind plug from the receiver.
- Turn on the transmitter first, then power on the receiver. The receiver's LED should illuminate solid, confirming the connection.

3.3. Connecting Servos and ESC
Connect your servos, Electronic Speed Controller (ESC), and other components to the appropriate channels (CH1-CH8) on the receiver. Ensure correct polarity (signal, positive, negative). The ESC typically provides power to the receiver through one of the channel connections, eliminating the need for a separate battery connection to the BAT port if the ESC has a Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC).
4. Operation
Once successfully bound and connected, the FS-R9B receiver will continuously receive signals from your paired Flysky transmitter. Ensure the transmitter is always powered on before the receiver to establish a connection. The receiver's solid LED indicator confirms a stable link. Operate your RC model according to its specific instructions, utilizing the channels for control surfaces, throttle, and other functions as configured on your transmitter.
5. Maintenance
- Cleanliness: Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Moisture Protection: Avoid exposing the receiver to moisture or extreme temperatures. If operating in damp conditions, ensure adequate waterproofing for the receiver.
- Connection Checks: Regularly inspect all connections (servo leads, power leads, antenna) for signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Ensure the antenna is not cut or damaged, as this can significantly affect range.
- Storage: Store the receiver in a dry, cool place when not in use.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Receiver LED not solid (no link) | Not bound, transmitter off, power issue, or out of range. | Perform binding procedure again. Ensure transmitter is on and charged. Check power connections to receiver. Move closer to the model. |
| Intermittent signal or reduced range | Antenna damage/poor placement, interference, low battery. | Ensure antenna is fully extended and not obstructed. Avoid operating near strong electrical interference. Check receiver and transmitter battery levels. |
| Servos not responding | Incorrect servo connection, faulty servo, or receiver not powered. | Verify servo connections to correct channels and polarity. Test with a different servo. Ensure receiver has power. |
