3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack the UPS and inspect it for any shipping damage. If any damage is found, notify the carrier and your dealer. The package should contain the UPS unit and this user manual.

3.2 Battery Connection

Before initial use, the internal battery must be connected. Refer to the diagram below for detailed steps:

  1. Pull the battery connector from its seating.
  2. Rotate the battery connector.
  3. Push the battery connector into the slot until it locks in position.
  4. Once locked, the battery connector is ready-to-use.

3.3 Connecting to Power and Devices

Connect the UPS power cord directly into a wall outlet. Note that this UPS requires a 3-pin 16A adapter or a 16A 3-pin power outlet due to its larger plug size. Connect your computer, monitor, router, and other critical electronic devices to the outlets on the rear of the UPS.

4. Operation

4.1 Turning On the UPS

Press the POWER ON/OFF button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The green Power ON LED will illuminate, confirming that the UPS is operational and providing protection.

The UPS battery charges to full capacity during the first 24 hours while connected to utility power. The UPS will charge the battery whether it is turned on or off. Do not expect the battery to provide its full rated backup time during this initial charging period.

4.2 Turning Off the UPS

Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for more than 2 seconds to turn off the UPS. A 2-second delay is incorporated to prevent accidental power-off.

4.3 Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)

The Line Interactive UPS features Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). This function automatically corrects minor voltage fluctuations (sags and surges) without switching to battery power, thereby preserving battery life and ensuring a stable power supply to connected devices.

4.4 USB Charging Port

The front panel includes a USB charging port (5V 2A) for convenient charging of mobile devices, even during a power outage when the UPS is operating on battery power.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Care

The UPS contains a sealed lead-acid battery with an average expected life of 5 years under normal operating conditions. Factors such as frequent power outages, high temperatures, and deep discharges can reduce battery life. It is recommended to periodically test the UPS by simulating a power outage to ensure the battery is functioning correctly.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean the exterior of the UPS, disconnect it from the power source and use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners, as they may contain flammable substances or cause electrical shock.

5.3 Environmental Conditions

Operate the UPS in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid placing it near windows or in environments with high humidity, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight, as these conditions can negatively impact performance and battery longevity.

6. Troubleshooting

If the UPS is not operating correctly, consult the following table for common issues and solutions:
