1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in fire, electric shock, or personal injury.

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

3. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the coffee machine and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the coffee machine on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper ventilation. Ensure it is near a suitable power outlet.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the airpot, brew basket, and any removable parts with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth.
  4. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): To clean the internal components, fill the water reservoir with cold water. Do not add coffee grounds. Place the empty airpot on the warming plate. Run a full brew cycle. Discard the hot water. Repeat this process once more.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee with your Buffalo CW306 Airpot Filter Coffee Machine:

  1. Prepare the Airpot: Ensure the airpot is clean and empty. Place it securely on the coffee machine's warming plate.

  3. Insert Filter: Make sure the brew basket filter paper support is in place. Before placing the filter, ensure the brew basket is clean. Insert a new filter paper into the brew basket.

  5. Add Coffee Grounds: Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter paper in the brew basket.
  6. Fill Water Reservoir: Always use cold water to brew coffee. Fill the water reservoir to the desired level, ensuring not to overfill.
  7. Start Brewing: Ensure the airpot is correctly positioned on the coffee maker. Turn the coffee maker 'ON' using the power switch. The 'Brew' indicator light will illuminate.
  8. Monitor Brewing: The machine will begin brewing. The 'Brewing in progress' indicator will show when coffee is being made. The machine can prepare 2 liters of coffee in less than 6 minutes.
  9. After Brewing: Once brewing is complete, the coffee will drip into the airpot. The 'Brew' indicator light may turn off or change color depending on the model.
  10. Serving: The airpot is designed to keep coffee hot. To dispense, press the lever on the airpot lid.

Important Notes:

  • Turn the upper hot plate 'OFF' when not in use.
  • Do not leave an empty glass jug (if applicable to other models) on a hot plate whilst it is hot. This model uses an airpot.
  • Do not overfill the water reservoir or brew basket.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Daily Cleaning:
    • Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
    • Remove and discard the used coffee filter and grounds.
    • Wash the brew basket and airpot with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
    • Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the stainless steel finish.

    • Use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) can be used.
    • Run the descaling solution through a brew cycle (without coffee grounds).
    • After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh cold water to rinse out any residual descaling solution.
