6. Operating Instructions
The AD-808 features a three-gear mode switch for different testing scenarios.

Figure 4: Overview of the easy operation steps for battery and alternator testing.
6.1. 12V Battery Test Mode
- Connect the tester to the 12V battery using either the alligator clamps or the cigarette lighter adapter.
- Set the gear switch to the '12V' position.
- The LCD screen will display the real-time voltage of the 12V battery.
- The LEDs on the left side will indicate the battery status (FULL, MEDIUM, LOW, EMPTY).
6.2. 24V Battery Test Mode
- Connect the tester to the 24V battery.
- Set the gear switch to the '24V' position.
- The LCD screen will display the real-time voltage of the 24V battery.
- The LEDs on the left side will indicate the battery status (FULL, MEDIUM, LOW, EMPTY).
6.3. Alternator Charging System Test Mode
- Connect the tester to the battery.
- Set the gear switch to the middle (default) position.
- The LCD screen will display the real-time voltage.
- Start the vehicle engine.
- The LEDs on the right side will indicate the alternator status (HIGH, GOOD, DEAD, REVERSE).
7. Understanding Test Results
7.1. Battery Status LEDs (Left Side)
- FULL: Battery is fully charged.
- MEDIUM: Battery has a moderate charge.
- LOW: Battery charge is low, consider charging.
- EMPTY: Battery is discharged, requires immediate charging or replacement.
7.2. Alternator Status LEDs (Right Side)
- HIGH: Alternator output is too high, potentially overcharging the battery.
- GOOD: Alternator is functioning correctly and providing adequate charge.
- DEAD: Alternator is not charging the battery, or output is too low.
- REVERSE: Indicates incorrect connection of the tester to the battery terminals.
7.3. LCD Display Voltage Readings
- The LCD displays real-time voltage with an accuracy of approximately 0.01V.
- If the voltage is below 4V, the screen will display 'LO'.
- If the voltage is above 30V, the screen will display 'HI'.

9. Maintenance
- Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Store the tester in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspect cables and clamps regularly for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
10. Troubleshooting
10.1. Device Does Not Power On
- Ensure the connections to the battery terminals are secure and correct (red to positive, black to negative).
- Check if the battery voltage is within the operational range (4-30V DC). If the battery is completely dead, the tester may not power on.
10.2. Incorrect Readings or 'LO'/'HI' Display
- Verify that the connections are clean and free from corrosion.
- Ensure the correct gear mode (12V, 24V, or Alternator) is selected for the test being performed.
- If 'LO' or 'HI' is displayed, the voltage is outside the 4-30V DC test range.
10.3. 'REVERSE' LED Indication
- This indicates that the positive and negative clamps are connected incorrectly. Disconnect immediately and re-connect with the red clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal.
