1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient use of your SONGMICS 3-Drawer File Cabinet. Please read this manual thoroughly before setup and operation, and retain it for future reference. This file cabinet is designed for organizing A4, legal, and letter-sized documents in home or office environments.

3. Safety Information

• Stability Warning: For safety reasons, please do not open all drawers at the same time when using the cabinet, as this may cause it to tip over.

5. Setup and Assembly

Your SONGMICS file cabinet arrives largely pre-assembled. The only required assembly steps are attaching the wheels or adjustable feet and the drawer handles.

1. Attach Wheels or Adjustable Feet:

   Decide whether you prefer mobility or stationary stability. Screw the chosen casters or adjustable feet into the designated holes on the bottom of the cabinet. Ensure all are securely tightened.

2. Install Drawer Handles:

   Locate the pre-drilled holes on the inside of each drawer front. Align the handles with these holes and secure them using the provided screws from the inside of the drawer.

6. Operating Instructions

1. Using the Drawers:

   The drawers feature full-extension slides for complete access to contents. Pull the handles gently to open and push firmly to close. Avoid slamming the drawers to ensure longevity of the slides.

2. Locking Mechanism:

   Insert one of the provided keys into the lock on the top drawer. Turn the key to engage the locking mechanism. This will secure all three drawers simultaneously. Remove the key after locking.

3. File Organization:

   The bottom drawer is equipped with a hanging rail to accommodate A4, letter, or legal-sized hanging files. The top drawer includes a removable stationery tray for smaller office supplies.

4. Using Casters (if installed):

   If you have installed the casters, you can easily move the cabinet. Two of the casters are lockable; press down on the lever to lock them in place and prevent unintended movement.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
• Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
• Drawer Slides: If drawers become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the slides.

8. Troubleshooting

• Cabinet feels unstable: Ensure the cabinet is placed on a flat, level surface. If using adjustable feet, adjust them to eliminate wobbling. If using casters, ensure the lockable casters are engaged when stationary. Avoid opening multiple drawers simultaneously.
• Drawers are stiff or difficult to open/close: Check for any obstructions in the drawer slides. Ensure the cabinet is level. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the drawer slides if needed.
• Lock not engaging all drawers: Ensure the top drawer is fully closed before attempting to lock. Verify the key is fully inserted and turned correctly.
