1. Power On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the power button (usually located on the side or top). Repeat to power off.

2. Volume Adjustment

Use the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons, typically located on the side, to adjust the listening volume.

3. Channel Selection

The Dynascan 2B operates on PMR-446 frequencies (446.00625 - 446.19375 MHz). Use the channel selection buttons (often integrated with volume or separate up/down buttons) to cycle through the available channels. The device supports 8 standard channels and can be programmed for up to 16 channels.

4. Transmission (PTT)

To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button, usually located on the side of the transceiver. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.

5. VOX Function (Voice-Activated Transmission)

The VOX function allows hands-free transmission. When activated, the device will automatically transmit when it detects your voice. Refer to the device's specific menu or button combinations to activate/deactivate VOX.

6. Scrambler (Secrafonía)

The scrambler function enhances communication privacy by encrypting your voice. Activation typically involves a specific menu setting or button sequence.

7. CTCSS/DCS Codes

Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System (CTCSS) and Digital-Coded Squelch (DCS) codes help filter out unwanted interference from other users on the same channel. By setting a specific CTCSS/DCS code, you will only hear transmissions from other radios using the same code.

8. Scanner Function

Activate the scanner function to automatically scan through active channels. This allows you to find ongoing conversations. Refer to your device's controls for scanner activation.

9. TOT (Transmission Time-Out Timer)

The TOT function automatically stops transmission after a preset time to prevent accidental continuous transmission and conserve battery life.

10. Battery Save Mode & Low Battery Alert

The device features an automatic battery save mode to extend operational time. When the battery level is low, an alert will notify you to recharge the device.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean the transceiver with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the device's casing and internal components.

Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures. Store the device and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery pack.

Water Resistance

The Dynascan 2B is not water resistant. Avoid exposure to water, rain, splashes, or high humidity to prevent damage to the internal electronics.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and fully charged. Check if the power button is pressed and held sufficiently to turn on the device.
  • Cannot Transmit or Receive: Verify that the device is powered on, the volume is adjusted, and you are on the correct channel. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge. Check if the PTT button is functioning correctly.
  • Limited Channels (Only 8 Available): The Dynascan 2B typically comes with 8 pre-programmed channels. While the device supports up to 16 channels, activating the additional channels often requires specific PC programming software and a compatible cable, which are not included in the standard package. Contact your dealer for more information on channel programming.
  • Poor Audio Quality or Range: Ensure you are within the effective communication range. Obstacles such as buildings, hills, or dense foliage can significantly reduce range. Check for low battery, which can affect transmission power.
