3.2. 7-in-1 Pro Outdoor Sensor

This advanced outdoor sensor measures seven different weather parameters: outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, wind speed, wind direction (360° with 16 direction points), rainfall, UV intensity, and light intensity. It features an improved solar radiation shield for more accurate temperature and humidity readings and transmits data wirelessly up to 150 meters (in open air) via 868 MHz frequency.

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor. Insert the required AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  2. Base Station: Open the battery compartment on the back of the base station. Insert the required AA batteries, observing correct polarity. Close the compartment.

It is recommended to insert batteries into the outdoor sensor first, then the base station, to facilitate initial synchronization.

4.2. Sensor Placement

Mount the 7-in-1 outdoor sensor in an open area, away from obstructions, to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and sunlight. Ensure it is securely fastened using the provided mounting bracket. The sensor should be placed at a height that allows for optimal wind measurement and prevents interference with rainfall collection.

4.3. Base Station Placement

Place the base station indoors, in a location where the display is easily visible and within the 150-meter wireless range of the outdoor sensor. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that could interfere with the wireless signal.

4.4. Initial Synchronization

After battery installation, the base station will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. This process may take a few minutes. Once connected, the outdoor weather data will appear on the base station display.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Display Overview

The base station display is divided into several sections, showing current time, date, indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, UV index, light intensity, air pressure, and weather forecast symbols.

5.2. Key Functions

  • Weather Forecast: Graphical symbols indicate the weather trend for the next 12 hours within a 30-50 km radius.
  • Indoor Climate Indicator: Three symbols provide an assessment of the indoor comfort level.
  • Feels-Like Temperature: The station calculates and displays the perceived temperature, accounting for heat index or wind chill.
  • Time, Date, Moon Phase: Automatically updated and displayed in a dedicated area on the screen.
  • Alarm and Snooze: An integrated alarm function with a snooze option (5 minutes) is available.
  • Smart Winter Function (Frost Alarm): If activated, and the outdoor temperature drops below -3 °C, the alarm will sound 30 minutes earlier.
  • Data History: Review measurements from the previous 24 hours for indoor/outdoor temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind chill, wind speed, and precipitation.
  • Min/Max Values: Access daily minimum and maximum recorded values.
  • Weather Alarms: Set customizable alarms for specific weather changes.
  • Expandability: The base station supports up to 3 additional wireless sensors (sold separately) for monitoring other locations.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Wipe the base station and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the rain collector on the outdoor sensor is free from debris (leaves, insects) to maintain accurate rainfall measurements.

6.2. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries in both the base station and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries at once with new ones of the same type. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.

6.3. Sensor Care

Periodically check the outdoor sensor for any physical damage or blockages, especially to the wind cups, wind vane, and rain collector. Ensure the solar radiation shield is clean and unobstructed for proper air circulation around the temperature and humidity sensors.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Outdoor Data Displayed:
    • Check if batteries are correctly installed in both units and are not depleted.
    • Ensure the outdoor sensor is within the 150m wireless range of the base station and there are no major obstructions.
    • Try resetting both units by removing and reinserting batteries.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Verify the outdoor sensor's placement; it should be in an open area, away from direct heat sources or reflective surfaces.
    • Clean the rain collector and ensure wind components move freely.
  • Display Not Working:
    • Check base station batteries.
    • Perform a hard reset by removing batteries for a few minutes and then reinserting them.
