1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the MASKO Heavy Duty Storage Shelves. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new storage system. Please read these instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain them for future reference.

The MASKO storage shelves are designed for efficient organization in various environments such as cellars, garages, workshops, and warehouses. Each unit features a robust galvanized metal frame and five adjustable MDF shelves, providing significant storage capacity.
2. Safety Information
Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing injury and damage to the product.
- Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 175 kg per shelf or 875 kg per unit. Distribute weight evenly across shelves.
- Secure Fastening: Always secure the assembled shelf unit to a wall using appropriate fasteners to prevent tipping, especially in areas with children or seismic activity. Pre-drilled holes are provided for this purpose.
- Assembly: Wear protective gloves during assembly to avoid cuts from metal edges. A rubber mallet is recommended for tapping components into place.
- Floor Protection: Utilize the provided rubber feet to protect your flooring from scratches and enhance stability.
- Stability: Ensure the shelf is placed on a flat, stable surface. The central crossbars on each level contribute to overall stability.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the unit during assembly. Once assembled, ensure the unit is stable and secured to prevent accidents.

3. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.
- Vertical support beams (split into sections for assembly)
- Horizontal support beams (long and short)
- MDF shelf panels (5 per unit)
- Rubber feet (for base of vertical beams)
- Coupling plates (for connecting vertical beam sections)
- Optional: Wall mounting hardware (screws, anchors) - May not be included, check packaging.
4. Assembly Instructions
The MASKO storage shelves feature a boltless, interlocking design for quick and easy assembly. No screws or drills are required for the main frame assembly, though a rubber mallet is highly recommended.
- Prepare the Area: Clear a spacious, flat area for assembly. Lay out all components and ensure you have a rubber mallet and protective gloves.
- Assemble Vertical Beams: Connect the two sections of each vertical support beam using the provided coupling plates. Gently tap them into place with a rubber mallet to ensure a secure fit.
- Construct Base Frame: Attach the short horizontal support beams to the bottom of two vertical beams to form one side of the shelf. Repeat for the other side. Ensure the slots align for the interlocking mechanism.
- Connect Side Frames: Stand the two side frames upright. Connect them using the long horizontal support beams at the bottom and top. This forms the basic rectangular structure.
- Install Shelf Supports: Insert the remaining horizontal support beams at your desired shelf heights. The vertical beams have slots every 4 cm, allowing for flexible shelf positioning. Ensure all beams are securely interlocked.
- Place MDF Panels: Carefully place the MDF panels onto the installed horizontal support beams. Ensure they sit flush and are centered.
- Attach Rubber Feet: Place the rubber feet onto the bottom ends of the vertical support beams to protect your floor and provide additional grip.
- Wall Mounting (Recommended): For maximum stability and safety, especially with heavy loads or in active environments, secure the shelf unit to a wall using appropriate screws and anchors (not always included). Use the pre-drilled holes in the vertical beams.

Assembly Configurations
The modular design allows for flexible configurations:
- Tall Unit: Assemble as a single tall unit (180cm height) with 5 shelves.
- Workbench: The unit can be split into two smaller, lower units, effectively creating a workbench or two separate storage units.

5. Operating Instructions
Once assembled and secured, your MASKO storage shelves are ready for use.
- Shelf Adjustment: To adjust shelf height, carefully unload the shelf, then gently tap the horizontal beams upwards to disengage them from the vertical slots. Re-position them at the desired height and tap them back into place.
- Loading Items: Place heavier items on lower shelves for better stability. Distribute weight evenly across each shelf to prevent warping of the MDF panels. Do not overload any single shelf or the entire unit beyond its stated capacity.
- Access: Ensure clear access to all shelves. Avoid placing items that obstruct the view or access to other stored goods.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your storage shelves.
- Cleaning: Wipe down metal surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly. For MDF panels, use a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid excessive moisture.
- Check Stability: Periodically check all interlocking connections to ensure they remain secure. Re-tap with a rubber mallet if any connections feel loose. Verify that wall anchors are still firm.
- Inspect for Damage: Regularly inspect the metal frame for any signs of rust, bending, or damage. Check MDF panels for warping or deterioration. Replace damaged components immediately.
7. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Shelf feels wobbly: Ensure all interlocking connections are fully engaged. Use a rubber mallet to firmly tap all beams into place. Verify the unit is on a level surface and securely wall-mounted.
- MDF panel is warping: This usually indicates uneven weight distribution or overloading. Redistribute items, placing heavier objects closer to the support beams. Ensure no single point bears excessive weight.
- Difficulty assembling: Ensure you are aligning the slots correctly. A rubber mallet is essential for securing the boltless connections. Do not force parts; if they don't fit, re-check alignment.
- Missing parts: Double-check all packaging materials. If parts are genuinely missing, contact Masko customer support with your purchase details.
