4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the fixture from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. If any damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.

4.2 Mounting

The fixture can be mounted on a flat surface (floor) or suspended from a truss using the provided mounting bracket and screws. Ensure the mounting location is stable and can safely support the fixture's weight.

4.3 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to the 'POWER IN' port on the rear of the fixture. Then, plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable grounded electrical outlet (AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz).

4.4 DMX Connection (Optional)

If using a DMX controller, connect a DMX cable from your controller's DMX output to the fixture's 'DMX IN' port. For multiple fixtures, daisy-chain them by connecting a DMX cable from the first fixture's 'DMX OUT' to the next fixture's 'DMX IN'.

5.1 Display Panel and Control Buttons

  • MENU: Cycles through the main menu options.
  • UP: Increases the value or moves up in menu options.
  • DOWN: Decreases the value or moves down in menu options.
  • ENTER: Confirms the selected option or value.
  • MIC: Built-in microphone for Sound Activated mode.

5.2 Automatic Mode

In Automatic mode, the fixture runs through a series of pre-programmed light sequences, patterns, and color changes without external input. To activate, use the MENU button to navigate to the 'Auto' setting and press ENTER.

5.3 Sound Activated Mode

The Sound Activated mode allows the fixture to react to ambient sound or music via its built-in microphone. The light effects, movements, and strobes will synchronize with the beat. To activate, use the MENU button to navigate to the 'Sound' setting and press ENTER.

5.4 Master-Slave Mode

This mode allows multiple fixtures to operate in synchronization without a DMX controller. Connect the fixtures in a daisy-chain using DMX cables. Set the first fixture as 'Master' and all subsequent fixtures as 'Slave'. The slave units will mirror the master's operation. To activate, set the master unit to either 'Auto' or 'Sound' mode, and set the slave units to 'Slave' mode via their respective displays.

5.5 DMX512 Mode

DMX512 mode provides professional control over all functions of the fixture using an external DMX controller. This mode requires setting a unique DMX address for each fixture and selecting the appropriate channel mode (10 or 12 channels). Refer to the DMX Control section for more details.

6. DMX Control

The U`King ZQ-B5PF supports DMX512 protocol, allowing precise control over its features. It offers two channel modes: 10-channel and 12-channel.

6.1 Setting the DMX Address

Each fixture in a DMX chain must have a unique starting DMX address. To set the address:

  1. Press the MENU button until the DMX address setting appears on the LED display (e.g., 'A001').
  2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the DMX address to your desired value.
  3. Press ENTER to confirm the address.

6.2 DMX Channel Modes

The fixture can operate in either 10-channel or 12-channel mode. The specific functions assigned to each DMX channel (e.g., Pan, Tilt, Gobo selection, Color selection, Strobe, Dimmer) are detailed in the comprehensive DMX channel map provided in the physical instruction manual included with your product. Please refer to that manual for a complete breakdown of DMX values and their corresponding effects.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your U`King ZQ-B5PF moving head light.

7.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the fixture from power before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Gently clean the optical lens with a soft cloth and a mild lens cleaning solution to maintain light output clarity.
  • Keep ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow for the cooling fan.

7.2 Storage

When not in use, store the fixture in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case, to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your U`King ZQ-B5PF, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power:
    • Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the fixture and the power outlet.
    • Verify that the power outlet is functional.
    • Inspect the power cable for any damage.
  • No Light Output:
    • Ensure the fixture is powered on and not in standby mode.
    • If in DMX mode, check the dimmer channel on your controller to ensure it is not set to zero.
    • Verify that the selected operating mode is active (e.g., Auto, Sound, DMX).
  • No Movement or Incorrect Movement:
    • If using DMX, check DMX connections, address, and ensure the Pan/Tilt channels are active on your controller.
    • Ensure there are no physical obstructions preventing movement.
    • In Master-Slave mode, confirm the master unit is functioning correctly and slave units are set to 'Slave'.
  • DMX Control Issues:
    • Confirm that the DMX address and channel mode (10 or 12 channels) on the fixture match your DMX controller settings.
    • Check all DMX cables for damage or incorrect connections.
    • Ensure a DMX terminator (120 Ohm resistor) is used on the last fixture in a long DMX chain to prevent signal reflection.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support.
