Setup and Power Supply
Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Upon receiving your PRUNUS J-110 radio, carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that the radio, AC power cable, and USB charging cable are included. Inspect the unit for any visible damage before proceeding with setup.
Powering the Device
The PRUNUS J-110 offers three distinct power supply methods:
- AC Power: For continuous use indoors, connect the provided AC power cable to the radio's AC input port and plug it into a standard wall outlet.
- Built-in Rechargeable Battery: The radio includes a 1200mAh built-in rechargeable battery for portable use. This is ideal for outdoor activities or when a power outlet is not available.
- D-Cell Batteries (Not Included): For extended emergency use or situations without access to charging, the radio can be powered by D-cell batteries. Ensure to remove D-cell batteries when charging the built-in rechargeable battery to prevent damage.

Charging the Built-in Battery
To charge the internal battery, connect the USB charging cable to the DC 5V input port on the radio and plug the other end into a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. A red indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
Operating Instructions
Turning On/Off and Volume Control
The volume knob also functions as the power switch. Rotate the volume knob clockwise to turn the radio on and increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn the unit off. The volume control can be sensitive; adjust carefully to achieve the desired sound level.
Radio Operation (AM/FM/SW)
Use the 'BAND' knob to select between AM, FM, and SW (Shortwave) radio bands. The large analog tuning dial allows for precise station selection. Extend the retractable antenna for optimal FM and SW reception. For AM reception, rotate the radio for the best signal.

Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly from your device to the radio's speaker. The radio features a 3W magnetic speaker for clear and balanced sound.
AUX, USB, and TF Card Playback
The radio supports multiple playback options:
- AUX Input: Connect external audio devices using the provided AUX cable to the AUX port.
- USB Playback: Insert a USB drive into the USB port to play audio files directly.
- TF Card Playback: Insert a TF (MicroSD) card into the TF card slot to play audio files.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the radio. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: To prolong the life of the built-in rechargeable battery, avoid fully discharging it frequently. If using D-cell batteries, remove them when the radio is not in use for extended periods or when charging via AC/USB to prevent leakage or damage.
- Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/Radio not turning on | Low battery or no power source. | Ensure the radio is charged or connected to AC power. Check D-cell batteries if using. |
| Poor radio reception | Weak signal, antenna not extended, or interference. | Fully extend the antenna. Try repositioning the radio. Avoid strong electromagnetic fields. |
| Volume knob is too sensitive | Characteristic of the analog control. | Adjust the volume slowly and with small increments. When using Bluetooth, control volume from your connected device. |
| Tuning knob drifts/Station hard to find | Minor mechanical play in the analog tuner. | Fine-tune slowly. Some slight drift is normal for analog tuners. |
| No audio from Bluetooth/USB/TF Card | Incorrect mode selected, device not paired, or corrupted files. | Ensure correct mode is selected. Re-pair Bluetooth device. Check audio file format and integrity. |
