4. Setup Instructions

  1. Connect the Power Adapter: Plug the included DC 18V 2000mA power adapter into the "DC IN 18V" port on the DP-Z unit. Ensure the adapter is securely connected.
  2. Connect to Wall Outlet: Plug the power adapter into a suitable AC wall outlet. The blue LED bar on the DP-Z unit should illuminate, indicating power.
  3. Connect Pedals: Use the provided DC power cables to connect your effect pedals to the appropriate output jacks on the DP-Z.
    • Match the voltage (9V, 12V, 18V) and current (mA) requirements of your pedals to the corresponding outputs on the DP-Z. Refer to Section 6 for detailed output specifications.
    • Most guitar pedals use a center-negative polarity. If a pedal requires center-positive polarity, use one of the included polarity reversal cables. Always verify your pedal's polarity requirements to prevent damage.
  4. USB Device Connection (Optional): If desired, connect a USB charging cable to the "USB DC OUT 5V" port to charge mobile devices or power USB-compatible accessories.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power to a pedal.
  • Cable not connected properly.
  • Pedal requires different voltage/current.
  • Short circuit in the pedal or cable.
  • Incorrect polarity.
  • Check all cable connections.
  • Verify pedal requirements against output specifications (Section 6).
  • If the output LED is off, disconnect the pedal/cable, then reconnect. Replace faulty cables.
  • Ensure correct polarity; use a polarity reversal cable if needed.
Excessive noise (humming, buzzing).
  • Ground loop issues.
  • Faulty patch cables.
  • Pedal itself is noisy.
  • Interference from other electrical devices.
  • The DP-Z has isolated outputs to minimize ground loops. Ensure all pedals are connected to isolated outputs.
  • Test with different patch cables.
  • Some pedals are inherently noisy; consider a noise gate pedal.
  • Try plugging the power supply into a different wall outlet or a power conditioner.
Unit does not power on.
  • Power adapter not connected.
  • Wall outlet not active.
  • Faulty power adapter.
  • Ensure the 18V power adapter is fully plugged into the DP-Z and the wall outlet.
  • Test the wall outlet with another device.
  • Contact customer support if the adapter is suspected to be faulty.
