2. Package Contents
Your Topsung M920 Walkie Talkie package includes:

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
- Remove the belt clip by lifting the tab and sliding the clip upwards.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
- Use a coin or flat tool to gently pry open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 3 x 1000mAh NI-MH AA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and reattach the belt clip.

3.2. Lanyard Attachment
To attach the lanyard, thread the thin loop of the lanyard through the small hole at the top of the radio, above the belt clip attachment point. Then, pass the larger part of the lanyard through the loop you just created and pull tight to secure it.
3.3. Charging
Connect one of the provided micro-USB charging cables to the charging port at the bottom of each radio. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., power bank, vehicle adapter, or wall adapter). The radios feature excellent safety with overcharge, overvoltage, and short circuit protection. Charging for approximately 3 hours provides a standby time of about 62 hours.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Power On/Off
Press and hold the MENU/Power button (located in the center below the screen) for a few seconds to turn the radio on or off.
4.2. Channel Selection
With the radio powered on, press the MENU button once. The channel number will flash. Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel (1-22). Press MENU again to confirm your selection or wait a few seconds for it to automatically set.
4.3. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)
To ensure private communication, you can set privacy codes. After selecting a channel, press MENU twice to access CTCSS codes (38 available) or three times for DCS codes (97 available). Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select a code. Both radios must be on the same channel and privacy code to communicate.
4.4. Push-to-Talk (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the PTT button (located on the left side of the radio). Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.
4.5. Call Tone
Your radio has 10 selectable call tones. To change the call tone, press MENU until 'C' appears on the screen. Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to cycle through the tones. Press MENU to confirm.
4.6. Volume Adjustment
Use the Up or Down arrow buttons (when not in menu mode) to adjust the speaker volume (8 adjustable levels).
4.7. Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental changes to your settings, press and hold the CALL/Lock button for a few seconds. A key icon will appear on the display, indicating the keypad is locked. Only the PTT button will function. Repeat the process to unlock.
4.8. Scanning Function
To scan for active channels, press the SCAN button. The radio will automatically scan through channels and stop on an active one. Press SCAN again to stop scanning.
4.9. VOX (Voice Activated Transmission)
VOX allows for hands-free operation. To activate, press MENU until 'VOX' appears. Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select a sensitivity level (1-17). A higher number indicates higher sensitivity. Press MENU to confirm. When VOX is active, the radio will transmit automatically when it detects your voice.

4.10. NOAA Weather Alert
Your radio is equipped with NOAA Weather Alert. To access weather channels, press and hold the SCAN button. The radio will automatically scan through 24 available weather (WX) band channels and lock onto the strongest one to alert you of severe weather updates. NOAA Weather Alert will sound an alarm if there is a risk of severe weather in your area.

4.11. Roger Beep
The Roger Beep is a tone transmitted when you release the PTT button, signaling to other users that you have finished speaking. To enable or disable the Roger Beep, navigate through the MENU options until you find the Roger Beep setting and toggle it on or off.
4.12. Compatibility
These radios are compatible with other FRS radios regardless of brand, as long as they are on the same channel and privacy code.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Care
The included 1000mAh NI-MH AA rechargeable batteries provide approximately 62 hours of standby time. For optimal battery life, fully charge the batteries before first use and whenever the low battery indicator appears. Avoid overcharging for extended periods.
5.2. Cleaning
Clean the radio's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging to prevent dust and moisture ingress.
5.3. Water Resistance
The Topsung M920 Walkie Talkies have an IP65 waterproof rating, meaning they are protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction. They are not designed for submersion in water.

- No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged.
- Cannot Communicate: Verify both radios are on the same channel and privacy code. Check volume levels. Ensure PTT button is pressed during transmission.
- Poor Audio Quality: Check battery level. Ensure you are within range. Obstacles like buildings, dense foliage, or terrain can reduce range and clarity.
- Keypad Unresponsive: Check if keypad lock is activated. Press and hold the CALL/Lock button to unlock.
