3. Safety Instructions
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the device or connected electronics, observe the following safety guidelines:
- Do not exceed the maximum electrical rating of 1875W (15A at 125V).
- This device is for indoor use only. Do not expose to moisture or use in wet environments.
- Do not disassemble or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Keep children away from the device and electrical outlets.
- Ensure the device is properly plugged into a grounded wall outlet.
- The built-in surge protection system includes overload protection, short-circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and overheating protection. In case of an overwhelming voltage surge, the device will automatically cut power to protect connected devices.
- The "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light will illuminate when the surge protection is active and functioning correctly. If this light is off, the surge protection may be compromised, and the device should be replaced.

4. Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the Addtam USB Wall Charger Surge Protector from its packaging.
- Inspect: Check the device for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
- Plug In: Insert the surge protector directly into a standard duplex wall outlet. Ensure it is firmly seated.
Note: For some wall outlets, a small black plastic prong on the surge protector may need to be carefully cut off to ensure a perfect fit. This prong is for stability in specific outlet types and its removal does not affect electrical function or safety.
- Verify Surge Protection: Once plugged in, the "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light (green circle) on the front of the unit should illuminate, confirming that the surge protection feature is active.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the surge protector is properly installed and the "SURGE PROTECTED" light is on, you can begin connecting your devices:
- AC Outlets: Plug your electronic devices into any of the 5 available AC outlets. The wide spacing allows for larger power adapters.
- USB Charging: Connect your USB-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) to the USB-A or USB-C ports. The smart charging technology will automatically detect your device and deliver the optimal charging current.
Note: The USB-C port does not support devices requiring 14-22V charging voltage (e.g., some laptops). It is designed for standard USB-C device charging.
- Monitoring Surge Protection: Periodically check the "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light. If it is off, the surge protection components have absorbed a significant surge and are no longer active. The device will still function as a power strip, but without surge protection. In this case, it is recommended to replace the unit to maintain full protection for your electronics.

6. Maintenance
The Addtam USB Wall Charger Surge Protector requires minimal maintenance:
- Cleaning: Disconnect the device from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the device for any physical damage, such as cracks in the casing or bent prongs. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
- Surge Protection Indicator: Regularly check the "SURGE PROTECTED" light. If it is off, the surge protection is no longer active, and the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection for your devices.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power from AC outlets or USB ports. | The surge protector is not properly plugged in. The wall outlet has no power. Overload protection activated. |
Ensure the surge protector is firmly plugged into the wall outlet. Test the wall outlet with another device. Unplug some devices to reduce the load. The unit may reset automatically or require unplugging and replugging. |
| "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light is off. | Surge protection components have been compromised by a power surge. | The unit will still function as a power strip, but without surge protection. Replace the unit to restore full surge protection. |
| USB-C port not charging a specific device. | Device requires higher voltage (14-22V) not supported by this USB-C port. Device is not compatible with standard USB-C charging. |
Use the original charger for devices requiring higher voltage. Ensure your device is compatible with standard USB-C charging specifications. |
