Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Tuning

The Roadie 3 utilizes vibration-based technology for accurate and noise-immune tuning. It supports electric, acoustic, classical (nylon strings), 6, 7, and 12-string guitars, ukuleles, mandolins, banjos, lap steel guitars, bouzoukis, mountain dulcimers, cigar box guitars, and violins with planetary pegs. It does not tune bass guitars.

  1. Select Instrument: Use the navigation controls to select the instrument you wish to tune from the device's menu.
  2. Attach to Peg: Place the Roadie 3 firmly onto the tuning peg of the string you want to tune.
  3. Pluck String: Pluck the string. The Roadie 3 will automatically rotate the peg to achieve the correct pitch.
  4. Tune-Up Mode: For enhanced tuning stability, enable the "Tune Up" mode in the settings. This mode first lowers the string pitch slightly below the target and then tightens it back up to the correct pitch, ensuring the tuning gears are under tension and reducing slippage.
