3. Installation Instructions
Before installing the grater blade, ensure your food processor is unplugged from the power outlet to prevent accidental operation.
- Prepare the Food Processor: Ensure the food processor bowl is clean and empty.
- Position the Shaft: Place the central drive shaft into the food processor bowl.
- Attach the Blade: Carefully align the central hole of the grater blade with the top of the drive shaft. Push the blade down firmly until it sits securely on the shaft. Ensure it is level and does not wobble.
- Secure the Lid: Place the food processor lid onto the bowl and lock it into position according to your appliance's specific mechanism. The appliance will not operate if the lid is not correctly secured.
Safety Note: The grater blade is sharp. Handle with extreme care to avoid injury. Always hold the blade by its central plastic hub, not by the cutting edges.
4. Operating Instructions
Once the grater blade is installed and the food processor is assembled, you can begin grating.
- Prepare Ingredients: Cut ingredients (e.g., cheese, vegetables) into pieces small enough to fit through the food chute.
- Plug In: Plug the food processor into a power outlet.
- Select Speed: Choose the appropriate speed setting on your food processor for grating. Refer to your food processor's main instruction manual for recommended speeds for different ingredients.
- Add Ingredients: Turn on the food processor. Gradually feed the ingredients into the food chute using the pusher. Never use your fingers or other utensils to push food into the chute while the appliance is operating.
- Process: Continue feeding ingredients until all are grated.
- Turn Off and Unplug: Once finished, turn off the food processor and unplug it from the power outlet before removing the lid or bowl.
5. Care and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your grater blade.
- Immediate Cleaning: Clean the blade immediately after use to prevent food from drying onto the surface, which can make cleaning more difficult.
- Hand Washing: Wash the blade by hand using warm, soapy water and a brush to remove food particles. Exercise extreme caution due to the sharp edges. Rinse thoroughly.
- Dishwasher Safe: This grater blade is dishwasher safe. Place it on the top rack of your dishwasher.
- Drying and Storage: Dry the blade completely before storing it. Store in a safe place where the sharp edges are protected and cannot cause accidental injury.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your grater blade, consider the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Blade not grating effectively. | Incorrect blade installation, food too large, or incorrect speed setting. | Ensure the blade is securely seated on the drive shaft. Cut food into smaller pieces. Refer to your food processor manual for optimal speed settings. |
| Food gets stuck between blade and lid. | Overfilling the chute or pushing too hard. | Feed ingredients gradually. Use gentle, consistent pressure with the pusher. |
| Appliance does not start. | Lid not properly secured, appliance not plugged in, or power issue. | Ensure the lid is locked correctly. Check power connection. Refer to your food processor's main manual for appliance-specific troubleshooting. |
If the problem persists, please contact Moulinex customer support.
