4. Operating Instructions
4.1 App Remote Control
Once paired, you can control the ZBMINI from the eWelink app or your smart home hub's application (e.g., Alexa app). Open the app, navigate to your device list, and tap the ZBMINI switch icon to toggle the connected light on or off.
4.2 Voice Control
If integrated with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Home, you can use voice commands to control the ZBMINI. For example, "Alexa, turn on the first light" or "Hey Google, turn off the living room light."
4.3 Manual Control
The ZBMINI retains the functionality of your traditional wall switch. You can still manually turn the light on or off using the connected physical switch. Additionally, the ZBMINI itself has a small button that can be used for manual control.
4.4 Scheduling and Scenes
Utilize the eWelink app or your smart home hub's features to set up schedules and scenes:
- Schedules: Program the light to turn on or off at specific times of the day.
- Timers: Set countdown timers for the light to automatically switch off after a set duration.
- Scenes: Create custom scenes that combine the ZBMINI with other smart devices. For example, a "Movie Night" scene could dim lights and turn on the TV.
5. Maintenance
The SONOFF ZBMINI is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Ensure the device is kept dry and free from dust. Periodically check wiring connections for security. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself, as this will void the warranty and may pose a safety risk.
6. Troubleshooting
- Device not pairing:
- Ensure the ZigBee hub is powered on and in pairing mode.
- Verify the ZBMINI is powered on and its indicator light is flashing (long press the pairing button for 5-7 seconds if not).
- Ensure the ZBMINI is within range of your ZigBee hub.
- Avoid installing the ZBMINI in metal junction boxes, as metal can block ZigBee signals.
- Intermittent connectivity:
- The ZBMINI acts as a ZigBee repeater; ensure you have a robust ZigBee mesh network with enough repeaters.
- Check for sources of interference (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other 2.4GHz devices) near the ZBMINI or ZigBee hub.
- Physical switch not responding:
- Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the diagram.
- Ensure the connected physical switch is a compatible type (not a momentary rocker or touch switch).
- Device not responding to app/voice commands:
- Check your internet connection and the status of your ZigBee hub.
- Ensure the ZBMINI is still paired and online in your smart home app.
- Restart the ZBMINI by cycling its power if necessary.
