Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury when using your ice maker, follow these basic precautions:

Setup

Before first use, unpack the ice maker and place it on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation. Clean the interior of the ice maker with a soft cloth and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow the unit to sit upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle.

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging.
  2. Placement: Position the unit on a level, sturdy countertop. Ensure it is not near any heat-emitting appliances or in direct sunlight.
  3. Ventilation: Leave at least 4 inches of space around the ice maker for proper air circulation.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Wipe down the interior and exterior with a damp cloth. For the water reservoir, fill with clean water and drain a few times to flush out any manufacturing residue.
  5. Resting Period: Let the unit stand upright for at least two hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This allows the compressor fluids to stabilize.

Operating Instructions

Your Deco Chef ice maker is designed for simple operation. Follow these steps to start making ice:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with potable water up to the maximum fill line. Use clean, filtered water for best ice quality.
  2. Power On: Plug the ice maker into a grounded 115V electrical outlet. Press the "ON/OFF" button on the control panel to turn the unit on.
  3. Select Ice Cube Size: Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the ice-making cycle length, which in turn changes the thickness of the ice cubes. A longer cycle produces thicker ice.
  4. Ice Production: The ice maker will begin its first cycle. In just 15 to 20 minutes, you can expect to receive 24 large ice cubes. The unit can produce up to 2.4 lbs of ice per cycle and up to 40 lbs of ice per day.
  5. Monitor Ice Basket: The LCD digital display will indicate when the ice basket is full. The 2.6 LB ice basket can detect when it's full and the machine will pause production.
  6. Add Water Indicator: The display also shows when it's time to add more water to the reservoir.
  7. Timer Function: Utilize the timer function to control how long you want your ice maker to run, allowing for automated operation.
  8. Meltwater Recycling: A secondary reservoir collects any meltwater from the ice basket and recycles it for future ice making, minimizing waste.
  9. Serving Ice: Use the included ice scoop to remove ice from the basket. The ice is delivered in a pallet form, which can be easily broken up with the scoop if needed.
