1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Parkside Inspection Camera. This device is designed for inspecting difficult-to-reach areas such as drains, cable shafts, and engine compartments. Its flexible gooseneck and integrated camera with adjustable lighting allow for clear visual inspection in confined spaces. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device to ensure safe and proper use.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the device is switched off before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • The camera head and flexible gooseneck are protected against temporary immersion (IP67). Do not submerge the main unit.
  • Keep the device away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and moisture.
  • Use only the specified batteries (4x AA) and dispose of them properly.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

4. Product Overview

The Parkside Inspection Camera consists of a main handheld unit with an integrated 2.7-inch TFT-LCD display and a flexible gooseneck probe with an 8mm camera head. The camera head features adjustable lighting for optimal visibility in dark environments. The main unit includes controls for brightness, image rotation, and a micro-USB port for data transfer. It also has an integrated flash memory for storing up to 100 photos (640 x 480 px).

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 4 x AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Attaching Accessories

The inspection camera comes with four attachments (hook, double hook, magnet, mirror) that can be screwed onto the camera head for specific tasks. To attach an accessory:

  1. Gently screw the desired attachment onto the threaded tip of the camera head until it is secure. Do not overtighten.
  2. Ensure the attachment is firmly in place before use to prevent it from detaching during inspection.

6. Operating the Device

6.1. Powering On/Off

  • Press and hold the Power button to turn the device on. The display will illuminate.
  • To turn off, press and hold the Power button again.
  • The device features a battery-friendly automatic shutdown function after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity.

6.2. Adjusting Display and Camera Lighting

  • Use the brightness control buttons on the main unit to adjust the display's illumination for better viewing.
  • The camera head's lighting can also be adjusted to illuminate the inspection area. Refer to the controls on the main unit for this function.

6.3. Image Rotation

The display image can be rotated 180° for convenient viewing, regardless of the camera's orientation. Use the designated button on the main unit to rotate the image.

6.4. Capturing Photos

The device has an integrated flash memory for storing still images. To capture a photo:

  1. Position the camera to capture the desired view.
  2. Press the Photo capture button (usually indicated by a camera icon) on the main unit. The image will be saved to the internal memory.

6.5. Data Transfer

To transfer captured images to a computer:

  1. Connect the inspection camera to your computer using the supplied micro-USB cable.
  2. The device should appear as a removable storage device on your computer.
  3. Navigate to the device's storage and copy the JPEG image files to your computer.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the main unit and display with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the camera lens, use a soft, lint-free cloth, possibly slightly dampened with lens cleaner, to avoid scratching.
  • Ensure the device is completely dry before storing.

7.2. Storage

When not in use, store the inspection camera in its plastic carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
