Setup and Installation

The Schellenberg 60920 is designed for single-person assembly. Follow these general steps for installation:

  1. Prepare the Guide Rail: Assemble the 4-part guide rail using the provided connectors. Ensure the rail is straight and securely joined.
  2. Mount the Guide Rail: Attach the assembled guide rail to the ceiling above your garage door. The guide rail is made of galvanized, wind-proof steel.

  4. Connect to Garage Door: Connect the sliding sledge of the guide rail to the gate arm, which then attaches to the angle on the garage door and the drive chain.

Operating Instructions

The Schellenberg 60920 features automatic adjustment and easy operation with the included handheld transmitters.

  1. Initial Setup and Automatic Adjustment: Upon first operation, the motor adapts to your specific garage door and automatically adjusts its power settings. It performs an electronic road detection to precisely switch off the motor when the set endpoints are reached. This process may require several open/close cycles to optimize.
  2. Using the Handheld Transmitter: The two 4-channel handheld transmitters operate on 433 MHz. Press the designated button to open or close the garage door. Light control via the handheld transmitter is also possible.
  3. Soft Start/Stop: The drive incorporates soft start and soft stop functions, ensuring smooth and quiet operation while reducing wear on the door mechanism.
  4. Obstacle Detection: The system includes obstacle detection. If an obstruction is encountered during closing, the door will reverse to prevent damage or injury.
  5. LED Lighting: An economical LED lighting system is integrated into the motor head. Additional lighting can be expanded if desired.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your garage door drive.

  • Annual Inspection: Annually inspect all moving parts, including the guide rail, chain, and door hinges, for wear, corrosion, or damage.
  • Lubrication: Lubricate moving parts of the garage door (not the drive unit itself) as recommended by your garage door manufacturer.
  • Clean Sensors: Keep the area around any safety sensors clean and free from obstructions.
  • Check Fasteners: Periodically check that all mounting hardware and fasteners are tight.
  • Power Disconnection: Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning on the drive unit.
