Initial Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials from your coffee maker. Keep packaging for future storage or disposal.
2. First Use Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe and brew basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
3. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with clean water. Place the empty brew basket into its position. Do not add coffee grounds. Place the carafe on the heating plate. Run a full brew cycle to clean the internal components. Discard the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired level, using the markings on the side. Do not exceed the MAX line.
2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (cone-shaped) or the permanent filter into the brew basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. For best results, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Adjust to taste.
3. Position Carafe: Ensure the flavor infusion carafe with its lid is properly placed on the heating plate.
4. Start Brewing: Press the BREW button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
5. Pause & Serve: During brewing, you can temporarily remove the carafe to pour a cup. The brewing will pause automatically. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
6. Keep Warm: After brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode for 2 hours. The "Time since last brew" indicator on the LCD will show how long the coffee has been kept warm.
7. Automatic Shut-off: The coffee maker will automatically shut off after 2 hours of keeping warm.

Programming Brew Time

1. Set Current Time: With the coffee maker plugged in, press the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the current time. The LCD display will show the time.
2. Set Program Time: Press the PROGRAM button. The "PROGRAM" indicator will flash. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired time for brewing to start.
3. Activate Program: Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm. The "PROGRAM" indicator will stop flashing and remain lit, indicating the programmed brew is set.

Care and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

1. Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Wash Removable Parts: The carafe, carafe lid, and brew basket can be washed in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
3. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
4. Clean Heating Plate: Wipe the heating plate with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating plate in water.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly, depending on the hardness of your water and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).

1. Prepare Solution: Fill the water reservoir with a solution of white vinegar and cold water. A common ratio is 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water. For example, 4 cups of vinegar and 8 cups of water.
2. Run Brew Cycle: Place the empty carafe on the heating plate. Run a full brew cycle with the vinegar solution.
3. Soak: After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let the solution sit in the carafe and reservoir for at least 15-30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
4. Rinse Cycles: Discard the vinegar solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run several full brew cycles (at least 3) to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
