Connectivity and Communication
The GPS + Cellular model allows you to make calls, send texts, and get directions even without your iPhone nearby, provided you have an active cellular plan for your watch. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and 4G LTE for comprehensive connectivity.
Stream music from Apple Music, listen to podcasts, or audiobooks directly from your watch.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Apple Watch
Regularly clean your Apple Watch and band to prevent skin irritation and maintain functionality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water. Do not use soaps, cleaning products, abrasive materials, or compressed air. Avoid submerging the watch in cleaning solutions.
Water Resistance
The Apple Watch Series 6 is water resistant to 50 meters. This means it can be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. It should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may diminish over time. It cannot be rechecked or resealed after refurbishment. To avoid damage, do not expose the watch to soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, perfume, solvents, detergent, acids or acidic foods, insect repellent, sunscreen, oil, or hair dye. These can negatively affect water seals and acoustic membranes.
Battery Care
To maximize battery lifespan, avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures. Charge your watch regularly, but avoid leaving it fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods. For long-term storage, charge the battery to around 50%.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Watch not turning on: Ensure it is charged. Connect to the magnetic charging cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes.
- Pairing issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and the watch is within range. Try restarting both devices.
- Apps not responding: Force quit the app by double-pressing the Digital Crown, swiping to the app, and swiping it off the screen. Restart the app.
- Inaccurate heart rate/blood oxygen readings: Ensure the watch is snug on your wrist, not too tight or too loose. Clean the back crystal of the watch. Tattoos on the wrist can interfere with sensor readings.
- Water damage: If water enters the device, immediately power it off and do not attempt to charge or use it. Contact support. Note that water damage is typically not covered under standard warranties, especially for renewed products where seals may have been compromised.
