3. Setup Instructions
3.1 Unpacking and Unrolling
Remove the paddle board and all accessories from the backpack. Unroll the board on a flat, clean surface, free from sharp objects. Ensure the board is fully extended before proceeding.
3.2 Inflation
- Locate the air valve at the tail of the board.
- Open the valve cap. Ensure the inner pin is in the "up" position (outward) for inflation. If it's down, press it to pop it up.
- Connect the hose from the double-action hand pump to the valve by twisting it securely.
- Begin pumping. The double-action pump inflates on both the up and down strokes. For easier pumping at higher pressures, you can switch to single-action mode (refer to pump instructions if applicable).
- Inflate the board to the recommended pressure of 15 PSI (1 Bar). The pump's gauge will indicate the current pressure.
- Once inflated, quickly remove the pump hose and close the valve cap tightly to prevent air leakage.

3.3 Fin Installation
The awesafe SUP features a detachable main fin for improved tracking and stability. The two smaller side fins are fixed.
- Turn the inflated board upside down.
- Locate the fin box at the rear underside of the board.
- Slide the main fin into the fin box groove.
- Secure the fin in place using the provided clip or pin mechanism. Ensure it is firmly locked to prevent loss during use.

3.4 Paddle Assembly
The adjustable aluminum paddle comes in multiple pieces for easy transport.
- Connect the paddle shaft sections by pressing the spring-loaded pins and sliding the sections together until they click into place.
- Attach the paddle blade to one end and the handle to the other.
- Adjust the paddle length to your height. A general guideline is that the paddle handle should reach your wrist when your arm is raised above your head. Secure the adjustment clamp firmly.
3.5 Leash Attachment
Always use the safety leash to keep your board close if you fall off.
- Attach one end of the coiled leash to the D-ring located at the tail of the paddle board.
- Secure the ankle cuff of the leash comfortably around your ankle.
4. Operation and Usage
4.1 Safety Guidelines
- Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD).
- Check weather conditions and water forecasts before heading out. Avoid strong winds, currents, and storms.
- Never paddle alone. Inform someone of your planned route and return time.
- Stay clear of motorized boats and designated swimming areas.
- Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 320 pounds.
- Be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards.
4.2 Getting on the Board
Start in shallow water. Kneel on the center of the board, just behind the carry handle. Once comfortable, slowly stand up, placing your feet shoulder-width apart over the carry handle, facing forward. Keep your knees slightly bent and your core engaged for balance.

4.3 Paddling Techniques
Hold the paddle with one hand on the top handle and the other on the shaft. The blade should be angled away from you. Use your core muscles, not just your arms, to propel the board. For turning, paddle on one side or use a sweep stroke.
4.4 Suitable Environments and Activities
The awesafe SUP is versatile and can be used in various calm water environments such as oceans, freshwater lakes, and rivers. It is suitable for a range of activities:
- Recreational Paddling: Enjoy leisurely cruises on calm waters.
- Yoga: The stable platform is ideal for practicing paddle board yoga.
- Fishing: Use the board for a unique fishing experience.
- Touring: Explore longer distances with ease.
- Snorkeling: Paddle to your favorite snorkeling spots.

5. Maintenance and Storage
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, rinse your paddle board with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and dirt. Use a mild soap and soft brush if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Drying
Ensure the board is completely dry before deflating and storing. This prevents mold, mildew, and material degradation.
5.3 Deflation and Rolling
- Open the air valve cap. Press the inner pin down to release the air.
- Once most of the air has escaped, you can start rolling the board tightly from the nose (front) towards the tail (valve end). This helps expel remaining air.
- Ensure the fins are removed before rolling to prevent damage.
- Once rolled, secure it with the provided strap or place it directly into the backpack.
5.4 Storage
Store your awesafe SUP in its backpack in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing heavy objects on top of the rolled board.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Board not inflating / losing air quickly | Valve pin in "down" position; loose valve cap; pump hose not securely attached; small puncture. | Ensure valve pin is "up" for inflation. Tighten valve cap. Re-attach pump hose securely. Inspect board for punctures and use repair kit if necessary. |
| Difficulty standing on board | Incorrect foot placement; insufficient inflation; choppy water conditions. | Ensure feet are centered over the carry handle. Inflate to 15 PSI. Practice in calm water. |
| Board not tracking straight | Fin not installed; incorrect paddling technique. | Ensure the main fin is correctly installed. Review paddling techniques, focusing on a straight stroke. |
