2. Product Overview

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully remove the machine from its packaging.
- Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate space around the machine for comfortable operation.
- Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a suitable electrical outlet.
3.2 Winding the Bobbin
The machine features a quick bobbin winding device.
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Guide the thread through the tension disc for bobbin winding.
- Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
- Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
- Start the machine (using the foot pedal or start/stop button) to wind the bobbin. Stop when the bobbin is full.
- Cut the thread and push the bobbin winder spindle back to the left.
3.3 Inserting the Bobbin
The Necchi NCH05AX uses a drop-in bobbin system.
- Open the bobbin cover plate.
- Insert the full bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
- Guide the thread through the tension spring and into the thread guide.
- Replace the bobbin cover plate.
3.4 Threading the Upper Thread
- Raise the presser foot lever.
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine, guiding the thread through the thread guides and tension discs.
- Bring the thread down to the needle. Use the automatic needle threader for convenience.
- Pull the bobbin thread up through the needle plate opening by turning the handwheel towards you to lower and raise the needle.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Stitch Selection
The Necchi NCH05AX offers 120 stitches. Use the control panel to select your desired stitch. The machine's display will show the selected stitch number and recommended settings.

4.2 Basic Sewing
- Place your fabric under the presser foot.
- Lower the presser foot lever.
- Select your desired stitch.
- Press the start/stop button or use the foot pedal to begin sewing.
- Use the speed control slider to adjust sewing speed.
- Press the reverse button to sew backwards for securing seams.
- At the end of a seam, press the automatic thread cutter button to trim threads.
- Use the needle up/down button to position the needle as needed.
4.3 Embroidery Function
The NCH05AX allows for integrated embroidery.
- Attach the embroidery unit and the appropriate embroidery frame (120x180mm or 50x70mm).
- Hoop your fabric with stabilizer in the embroidery frame.
- Select a built-in embroidery design or transfer a design via Wi-Fi using the MyPatterns app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Follow the on-screen instructions for thread changes and color sequencing.
- Start the embroidery process.
4.4 Wi-Fi Connectivity (MyPatterns App)
The machine features Wi-Fi connectivity to enhance your embroidery experience.
- Download the "MyPatterns" application from your device's app store.
- Ensure your Necchi NCH05AX machine is powered on and its Wi-Fi function is activated.
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the machine's Wi-Fi network as instructed in the app.
- Use the MyPatterns app to browse, edit, and transfer embroidery designs to your machine.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Machine
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your machine.

- Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Remove the needle plate and bobbin case.
- Use a small brush to remove lint and dust from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and tension discs.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Needle Replacement
Replace the needle regularly (after 8-10 hours of sewing) or if it becomes bent, dull, or broken.
- Turn off the machine and unplug it.
- Loosen the needle clamp screw.
- Remove the old needle.
- Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine, pushing it up as far as it will go.
- Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
6. Troubleshooting
