1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of your Heaflex Dog Training Collar. This device is designed to assist in training your dog through various modes, including sound, vibration, static stimulation, and an LED light. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and to promote a positive training experience for your pet.

Important Note: Static stimulation should always be considered a last resort in training. It is not intended for punishing dogs, especially young dogs. Always prioritize positive reinforcement and gentle training methods.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Devices

Before first use, fully charge both the remote transmitter and the receiver collar. Use the provided USB double-end charging cable to charge both devices simultaneously.

  • Connect the USB end of the cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included), computer, or power bank.
  • Connect the two small ends to the charging ports on the remote transmitter and the receiver collar.
  • The LED indicator on both devices will show charging status (typically red for charging, green or off when fully charged).
  • Charging typically takes approximately 3 hours.
  • Once fully charged, the remote has a standby time of up to 45 days, and the receiver up to 15 days.

3.2 Assembling the Collar

  1. Insert one end of the collar strap through the socket on one side of the receiver.
  2. Pass the strap through the middle socket on the opposite side of the receiver.
  3. Thread the strap through the remaining socket on the first side.
  4. Adjust the collar to the desired length and fasten it with the buckle.

3.3 Fitting the Collar

Proper fit of the receiver collar is crucial for effective and safe operation. The collar should be snug but not too tight, allowing two fingers to fit comfortably between the strap and your dog's neck. The contact points on the receiver should make direct contact with your dog's skin.

  • The collar is adjustable from 7.1 to 25.6 inches (18cm to 65cm) and is suitable for dogs weighing 8 lbs or more.
  • Position the receiver on the side of your dog's neck for safer and more stable contact.
  • Do not attach a leash to the training collar. Use a separate collar for leash attachment.
  • The conductive silicone points with rubber covers provide double protection for your dog's skin.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Turning On/Off

  • Remote Transmitter: Press any button to turn on. It will automatically enter standby mode after a period of inactivity.
  • Receiver Collar: Press and hold the power button on the receiver until the LED indicator lights up (usually green). To turn off, press and hold the power button until the LED indicator turns off.

4.2 Pairing the Devices

The remote transmitter and receiver collar are typically pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is needed:

  1. Ensure both devices are fully charged and turned off.
  2. Turn on the remote transmitter.
  3. Press and hold the power button on the receiver collar until the LED indicator flashes rapidly.
  4. Within 10 seconds, press the 'Shock' or 'Vibration' button on the remote transmitter.
  5. If successful, the receiver's LED will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.

4.3 Training Modes

The Heaflex training collar offers four distinct modes to assist in training:

  • Beep (Sound) Mode: Emits an audible warning sound. This is often the first mode used to get your dog's attention.
  • Vibration Mode: Delivers a gentle vibration. Intensity is adjustable from 0-99 levels.
  • Static Shock Mode: Provides a static stimulation. Intensity is adjustable from 0-99 levels. Use this mode cautiously and as a last resort.
  • LED Light Mode: Activates an LED light on the receiver, useful for visibility in low-light conditions.

4.4 Adjusting Intensity Levels

For Vibration and Static Shock modes, use the '+' and '-' buttons on the remote transmitter to adjust the intensity from 0 to 99. Start with the lowest effective level and increase gradually if necessary.

4.5 Remote Control Range

The remote control has an effective range of up to 800 yards (approximately 2600 feet) in open areas. Environmental factors such as terrain, weather, and electromagnetic interference can affect the actual range.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Regularly clean the receiver collar and contact points with a damp cloth.
  • Ensure the charging ports are free from dirt and moisture.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

5.2 Waterproofing

The receiver collar has an IP65 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for use in rain or wet conditions. However, it is not designed for prolonged submersion. Avoid keeping the receiver in water for extended periods.

5.3 Battery Care

  • Charge the devices when the battery indicator is low.
  • Avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery for optimal lifespan.
  • Store the devices in a cool, dry place when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting
