6. Maintenance and Care
Always unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate
- To clean the soleplate, wipe it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
- Do not use abrasive pads, metal scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the Durilium AirGlide coating.

While the iron features an anti-drip system, regular descaling helps maintain optimal steam performance, especially in hard water areas.
- Fill the water tank with tap water.
- Heat the iron to its maximum temperature.
- Unplug the iron and hold it over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button (if available) or repeatedly press the steam boost button to flush out mineral deposits.
- Repeat if necessary until clean water comes out.
6.3 Emptying and Storage
- After each use, empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent mineral buildup.
- Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a safe, dry place, away from children.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet fault; thermostat set too low. | Check power connection; try another outlet; set temperature higher. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low for steam; steam control set to dry ironing; calc buildup. | Fill water tank; set temperature to •• or •••; adjust steam control; perform descaling. |
| Water drips from the soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam; steam control set too high for temperature; iron not hot enough. | Wait for the iron to reach the set temperature (indicator light off); ensure temperature is suitable for steam; reduce steam output. |
| White flakes coming from soleplate. | Mineral deposits (calc). | Perform the descaling procedure as described in the Maintenance section. |
