2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before using the battery and charger. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the product or property.

  • Battery Safety:
    • Do not disassemble, open, or shred the battery pack.
    • Do not expose the battery to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
    • Do not short-circuit the battery. Do not store battery packs haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by other metal objects.
    • Do not remove the battery from its original packaging until required for use.
    • Do not subject battery packs to mechanical shock.
    • In the event of a battery leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
    • Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment.
    • Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) marks on the battery and equipment and ensure correct use.
    • Do not use any battery pack that is not designed for use with the equipment.
    • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
    • Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or battery has been swallowed.
    • Always purchase the correct battery for the equipment.
    • Keep battery packs clean and dry.
    • Do not leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use.

4. Setup

Before first use, ensure the battery is fully charged. Follow these steps to set up your charger and battery:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove the battery and charger from their packaging.
  2. Inspect for Damage: Check both the battery and charger for any visible signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
  3. Prepare Charger:
    • Locate the foldable flat pin on the AC wall charger.
    • Gently extend the prongs until they lock into place, ready to be plugged into a wall outlet.
  4. Insert Battery:
    • Align the battery contacts with the corresponding contacts inside the charger slot.
    • Insert the battery firmly into the charger. Ensure it is seated correctly and securely.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to charge your battery using the Kastar AC Wall Charger:

  1. Connect to Power: Plug the AC wall charger (with the battery inserted) directly into a standard AC 100-240V wall outlet.
  2. Monitor Charging Indicator:
    • The LED indicator on the charger will illuminate RED to indicate that the battery is currently charging.
    • Once the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn GREEN.
  3. Remove Battery: Once the LED indicator turns green, the battery is fully charged. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet and carefully remove the charged battery.
  4. Store Charger: Fold the flat pins back into the charger body for compact storage when not in use.

The charger is designed to provide an output of DC 4.2V 600mA, suitable for the included Lithium-Ion battery.

6. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your Kastar battery and charger.

  • Battery Care:
    • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
    • Avoid fully discharging Lithium-Ion batteries frequently, as this can reduce their lifespan.
    • If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50-70% capacity.
    • Keep battery contacts clean using a dry cloth or cotton swab.
  • Charger Care:
    • Keep the charger clean and dry. Avoid contact with liquids.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on the charger.
    • Store the charger in a safe place when not in use, protecting it from physical damage.
    • Ensure the foldable pins are fully retracted when storing to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Kastar battery or charger, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
