Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee machine.
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Waste Bin: Empty and clean the drip tray and internal used capsule waste bin daily or after every few uses. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily. For a deeper clean, wash with mild soap and water weekly.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.
Descaling
Descaling is crucial to remove mineral buildup and maintain brewing performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. It is recommended to descale every 3-6 months.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio) can be used.
- Empty Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is empty.
- Fill with Solution: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
- Run Cycle: Place a large container under the coffee spout. Run several brewing cycles without a capsule until the water tank is empty.
- Rinse Cycles: Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run at least 2-3 full water cycles to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
Caution: Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials for cleaning, as they can damage the machine.
