1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your DONGJIAN DVI Splitter 1 in 2 Out. This device is designed to distribute a single DVI video signal to two DVI-compatible displays simultaneously, ensuring both monitors show the same content. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
2. Product Overview
2.1 Key Features
- DVI Splitter 1 in 2 Out: Distributes one DVI signal to two DVI monitors, displaying identical content on both. Note: Does not support extended desktop mode.
- EDID Copy System: Features an EDID management system. For optimal compatibility, connect the monitor with the lower resolution to Output 1.
- High Resolution Support: Supports DVI signal resolutions up to 4096x2160@30Hz, including non-standard DVI resolutions like 2000x1000@60Hz. Ensures lossless transmission without image degradation.
- Remote Signal Transmission: Functions as a signal enhancer, supporting up to 10 meters input and 10 meters output cable lengths, totaling 20 meters of lossless transmission.
- Easy to Use: Plug and play functionality, operating system independent, no software or driver installation required.
2.2 Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in your package:

- Power Input Port (DC5V): Connects to the provided power adapter.
- DVI IN Port: Connects to the DVI output of your source device (PC, Laptop, DVR).
- DVI OUT1 Port: Connects to the first DVI display. This port is used for EDID copying; connect the lower resolution monitor here for best compatibility.
- DVI OUT2 Port: Connects to the second DVI display.
- Power LED: Indicates the device is receiving power.
- Signal LED: Indicates a DVI signal is detected.
3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your DVI Splitter:
- Power Off Devices: Ensure all devices (source, displays) are powered off before making connections.
- Connect Source: Connect a DVI cable from your source device (e.g., PC, Laptop, DVR) to the DVI IN port on the splitter.
- Connect Displays:
- Connect a DVI cable from the DVI OUT1 port on the splitter to your first DVI display (e.g., Monitor, Projector). If you have monitors of different resolutions, connect the one with the lower resolution to DVI OUT1 for optimal EDID compatibility.
- Connect a DVI cable from the DVI OUT2 port on the splitter to your second DVI display.
- Connect Power: Plug the provided DC 5V power adapter into the DC5V port on the splitter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The Power LED on the splitter should illuminate.
- Power On Devices: Power on your displays first, then power on your source device. The Signal LED on the splitter should illuminate, and both displays should show the same content.

4. Operating Instructions
The DONGJIAN DVI Splitter is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. Once all connections are made and power is supplied, the splitter will automatically duplicate the DVI signal from your source to both connected displays.
- Signal Duplication: The splitter will mirror the content from your source device onto both connected DVI monitors. It does not support extending your desktop across multiple displays.
- Resolution: The splitter will attempt to output the highest common resolution supported by both connected displays and the source. If displays have different native resolutions, the output resolution will be limited by the display connected to OUT1 (due to EDID copying) or the lowest common resolution.
- EDID Management: The splitter copies the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) from the display connected to OUT1. This data informs the source device about the display's capabilities. For best results, especially with mixed-resolution displays, ensure the display with the lowest resolution is connected to OUT1.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DVI Splitter, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Environment: Keep the splitter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Ventilation: Ensure the device has adequate ventilation. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Cable Management: Avoid bending DVI cables sharply or placing heavy objects on them, as this can damage the cables and affect signal quality.
- Power Supply: Only use the provided DC 5V power adapter. Using an incorrect power supply may damage the device.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DVI Splitter, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Picture on Displays:
- Ensure the splitter is powered on and the Power LED is illuminated.
- Verify all DVI cables are securely connected to the source, splitter, and displays.
- Check if the source device is outputting a DVI signal and if the displays are set to the correct input source.
- Try connecting a single display directly to the source to confirm the source and display are working independently.
- Ensure the display with the lower resolution (if applicable) is connected to DVI OUT1 for proper EDID communication.
- Poor Picture Quality or Flickering:
- Check DVI cable quality and length. Using high-quality, shorter cables can improve signal integrity. The splitter supports up to 10m input and 10m output.
- Ensure the resolution and refresh rate settings on your source device are compatible with both displays and the splitter (up to 4096x2160@30Hz).
- Verify that the power adapter is securely connected and providing stable power.
- Only One Display Working:
- Check the DVI cable connection for the non-working display.
- Test the non-working display with a different DVI cable or by connecting it directly to the source.
- Ensure the display connected to DVI OUT1 is functioning correctly, as its EDID is copied.
- Resolution Issues (e.g., lower than expected):
- The splitter will output the highest common resolution supported by the source and both displays. If one display has a lower maximum resolution, the output may be limited to that resolution.
- Ensure the display with the lowest resolution is connected to DVI OUT1 to facilitate correct EDID negotiation.
