Operating Your 3D Pen
Temperature Adjustment
The SCRIB3D P1 Pen allows for temperature adjustment to accommodate different filament types. The LCD display will show either ABS or PLA. Use the Temperature Up/Down buttons to select the appropriate mode for your filament. The temperature ranges are: ABS (210-235℃ / 410-455°F) and PLA (160-210℃ / 320-410°F). Adjust the temperature as needed for optimal extrusion.
Speed Control
The pen features an easy-to-use stepless speed slider on the side. This allows for precise speed adjustment, perfect for intricate details or faster infill work. Slide the control up for faster extrusion and down for slower extrusion.
Drawing and Extruding
- Once the filament is loaded and the pen is ready (green indicator light), press and hold the forward button to begin extruding plastic.
- For continuous flow, double-click the forward button. Double-click again to stop continuous flow.
- Guide the pen to create your desired 3D designs.

Maintenance and Care
Filament Unloading
After completing your design or when changing filament colors, press and hold the reverse button to retract the filament from the pen. Ensure the filament is fully retracted before unplugging the pen or turning it off.
Nozzle Cleaning
The SCRIB3D P1 features a ceramic nozzle designed to prevent clogging. If you notice any residue or blockage, ensure the pen is heated to the correct temperature and try extruding a small amount of filament to clear it. Avoid using sharp objects to clean the nozzle as this may cause damage.
Storage
Store your 3D pen in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Always unload the filament completely before long-term storage to prevent clogging. The pen has a 2-minute auto-sleep function when not in use, which helps conserve energy and prevent overheating.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Filament Not Extruding
- Check Temperature: Ensure the pen is heated to the correct temperature for the filament type (PLA or ABS). Refer to the operating section for temperature ranges.
- Filament Loading: Verify that the filament is properly loaded and fully inserted into the pen's feeding mechanism.
- Nozzle Blockage: If the nozzle is clogged, ensure the pen is at operating temperature and try to extrude filament. If unsuccessful, carefully follow the cleaning instructions in the maintenance section.
Pen Not Heating Up
- Power Connection: Confirm that the power adapter is securely plugged into both the pen and a working wall outlet.
- Indicator Light: Check if the red indicator light is on. If not, try a different outlet or power adapter.
Inconsistent Extrusion
- Speed Setting: Adjust the stepless speed slider to a slower setting for more consistent and controlled extrusion.
- Filament Quality: Ensure you are using high-quality PLA or ABS filament. Poor quality filament can lead to inconsistent flow.
