2. Adjusting the Dress Form
The Dritz Twin-Fit dress form offers multiple adjustment points to accurately match your desired measurements. Always make adjustments incrementally to avoid straining the mechanism.
2.1. Bust, Waist, and Hip Adjustments
The dress form features 10 auto-set dials and 2 soft-grip rolling wheels (at the bust sides) to adjust the bust, waist, and hip measurements in 1/2-inch increments.
- Measure: Take accurate bust, waist, and hip measurements.
- Adjust Dials: For the auto-set dials, squeeze the button in the center of the dial and turn it to expand or contract the form's torso. Release the button to lock the setting.
- Adjust Wheels: For the soft-grip wheels at the bust, gently roll them with your finger or thumb to make fine adjustments.
- Incremental Adjustment: To prevent damage and ensure smooth operation, turn each dial or wheel a small amount, then move to the next, repeating until all sections reach the desired measurement. Do not attempt to achieve the full adjustment on a single dial at once.

2.2. Back Waist Length Adjustment
The dress form allows for up to 2 inches of additional length in the back waist. This adjustment is made using a knob located inside the form.
- Locate Knob: The back waist adjustment knob is situated inside the dress form, accessible from the bottom or by gently separating the torso sections.
- Adjust Length: Loosen the knob to slide the bust and hip sections apart to increase length, or push them together to shorten. Tighten the knob to secure the desired length.

2.3. Neck Adjustment
The neck size can be adjusted using the decorative wood finial at the top of the dress form.
- Press and Turn: Press down on the neck finial and rotate it to increase or decrease the neck circumference.

2.4. Height Adjustment and Hem Marking
The dress form's overall height can be adjusted to match your shoulder-to-floor measurement, and the hem marker assists in creating even hems.
- Adjust Pole Height: Loosen the screw knob on the center pole to slide the torso up or down. Tighten to secure at the desired height. The maximum height from shoulder to floor is 64 inches.
- Use Hem Marker: Position the 360-degree adjustable hem marker at the desired hem length. Use chalk or pins to mark the fabric evenly around the garment.

3. Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the fabric surface with a damp cloth to remove dust or lint. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric or plastic components.
- Storage: When not in use, store the dress form in a dry, clean environment. The stand can be collapsed for easier storage.
- Lubrication: If adjustment mechanisms become stiff, a small amount of silicone spray lubricant can be applied to the moving parts, avoiding contact with the fabric.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1. Dials are Difficult to Turn
- Ensure you are pressing the center button on the auto-set dials before attempting to turn them.
- Make adjustments incrementally. Turn each dial or wheel a small amount, then move to the next, repeating the process until the desired measurement is achieved. Forcing a single dial can cause it to jam or damage the mechanism.
- Check for any fabric or debris obstructing the movement of the dials or wheels.
4.2. Difficulty Pinning Fabric
- The dress form has a foam-backed surface designed for pinning. Ensure you are using sharp pins.
- Due to the adjustable nature, there may be small gaps between the expanding sections. Pinning directly into these gaps may be difficult. Aim to pin into the solid, foam-backed areas.
- Consider using a padded cover or additional padding in specific areas if more consistent pinning is required.
