3. Assembly Instructions

The main PCB board is pre-soldered and tested. Your primary task will be to solder the individual LEDs. Basic electronic knowledge and soldering skills are required for this project. The mainboard features 64 square holes designed to facilitate LED placement and soldering.

3.1 Preparation

  • Ensure you have a clean, well-lit workspace.
  • Gather necessary tools: soldering iron, solder, wire cutters, needle-nose pliers, and safety glasses.
  • Familiarize yourself with the LED polarity (longer leg is positive, shorter leg is negative).

3.2 LED Soldering Steps

  1. Bend LEDs: Use the provided cardboard guide to bend the short leg of each LED at a 90-degree angle.
  2. Place LEDs: Insert the bent LEDs into the designated square holes on the PCB mainboard, ensuring correct polarity. The mainboard has markings to guide placement.
  3. Solder LEDs: Carefully solder each LED to the mainboard. Ensure strong, clean solder joints.
  4. Assemble Layers: Once all LEDs for a layer are soldered, connect the layers according to the paper instructions to form the 3D cube structure.
  5. Final Assembly: Secure the completed LED cube structure to the main PCB board.
