Setup
1. Mounting the Solar Panel
The solar panel comes with a 360-degree adjustable mounting bracket, allowing you to position the panel for optimal sun exposure. Use the provided mounting screws to secure the bracket to a stable surface. Ensure the panel is placed in an area that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day.

Figure 2: The solar panel features a sturdy aluminum frame and tempered glass, designed to withstand various weather conditions. The adjustable bracket allows for flexible positioning.
2. Connecting the Charge Controller
The smart charge controller is a crucial component that regulates the charging process, protecting your battery from overcharging, over-voltage, and short circuits. It features two indicator lights to show charging status.

Figure 3: The intelligent charge controller provides multiple layers of protection, including over temperature, reverse current, short circuit, reverse polarity, overload, and overcharge prevention.

Figure 4: The controller boasts 99% tracking and conversion efficiency, automatically disconnecting when the battery is full and recharging when power drops. It is IP67 waterproof.
3. Connecting to the Battery
First, connect the charge controller to your 12V battery using either the alligator clips cable or the O-rings terminal cable. Ensure the positive (+) terminal of the controller is connected to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and the negative (-) terminal of the controller is connected to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Once the controller is connected to the battery, then connect the solar panel to the controller. All cable connections are plug and play.
This kit is universally compatible with various 12V battery types, including:
- AGM
- GEL
- SLI
- Marine
- Deep Cycle
- LiFePO₄
- Lithium Ion (LiCoO₂, NMC, NCA, LTO)
- EFB
- MF
- Ni-Cd
- Ni-MH

Setup Demonstration Video
Video 1: This video demonstrates how to connect and use the 20W solar panel with the 8A controller, providing a visual guide for setup.
Operating Instructions
Once properly connected, the solar panel will begin charging your 12V battery. The intelligent charge controller manages the charging process automatically.
- Indicator Lights: The controller features two indicator lights. One light indicates when the panel is receiving sunlight ("In the Sun"), and the other indicates when the battery is charging ("Charging") or fully charged ("Charged"). Refer to the controller's label for specific light indications.
- Automatic Charging: The controller will automatically disconnect charging when the battery is full to prevent overcharging and will resume charging when the battery's voltage drops.
- Optimal Performance: For best results, ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive direct sunlight without any shading. The adjustable mount bracket allows you to optimize the angle towards the sun.

Figure 6: The 20W solar panel is ideal for daily maintenance charging of batteries in a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including cars, RVs, boats, motorcycles, ATVs, trailers, and water pumps.

Video 2: This video showcases the solar panel kit in various real-world applications, demonstrating its versatility and ease of use in different scenarios.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
- Connections: Regularly inspect all electrical connections (to the controller and battery) to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose or corroded connections can reduce performance.
- Obstructions: Ensure no objects (leaves, snow, etc.) are shading the solar panel, as this will significantly reduce its power output.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No "In the Sun" indicator light | No sunlight on the panel; panel is shaded; panel is dirty; faulty connection. | Move panel to direct sunlight; remove any shading; clean the panel surface; check all connections. |
| No "Charging" indicator light | Battery is fully charged; battery not connected; incorrect polarity; low sunlight; faulty controller/panel. | Check battery voltage (if full, light will not be on); ensure battery is connected correctly; verify positive to positive and negative to negative connections; ensure sufficient sunlight; contact support if issue persists. |
| Slow charging | Insufficient sunlight; panel not optimally angled; dirty panel; battery issues. | Ensure full, direct sunlight; adjust panel angle; clean panel; check battery health. |
