3. Setup and First Use
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove the machine from its packaging.
- Place the machine on a clean, stable, and level surface.
- Remove all protective films and stickers.
3.2 Rinsing the Machine
Before first use, or after a long period of inactivity, rinse the machine to ensure optimal coffee quality.
- Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
- Place a container (at least 0.5 L) under the coffee outlet.
- Close the brewing head (without a capsule inside) and lock it by turning the lever to the left.
- Press the brew button three times quickly. The button will blink during the rinsing cycle.
- The machine will dispense hot water. Once complete, the button will stop blinking and remain steady.
- Empty the container. Your machine is now ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Brewing Coffee
The Vertuo Next machine uses Centrifusion™ technology to brew coffee, recognizing each capsule to deliver the optimal cup size and blend parameters.

- Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh water.
- Turn on the machine by pressing the brew button. It will blink while heating up and become steady when ready.
- Lift the lever to open the brewing head.
- Insert a Nespresso Vertuo capsule into the capsule holder. The machine will automatically read the barcode on the capsule.
- Close the brewing head and lock it by turning the lever to the left.
- Place your desired cup on the cup support. Adjust the cup support height if necessary.
- Press the brew button. The machine will automatically brew the coffee according to the capsule's barcode.
- Once brewing is complete, the capsule will be automatically ejected into the used capsule container.

4.2 Automatic Shut-off
The machine features an automatic shut-off function to save energy. It will turn off after a period of inactivity.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity of your machine and the quality of your coffee.
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the machine's exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
- Drip Tray and Cup Support: Remove and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse with warm water.
- Water Tank: Wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and refill with fresh water.
5.2 Descaling
Descaling is crucial to remove mineral deposits and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Refer to the Nespresso website or contact customer service for specific descaling instructions and recommended descaling solutions.
- Empty the water tank and used capsule container.
- Fill the water tank with the Nespresso descaling solution and water as per the descaling kit instructions.
- Place a large container (at least 1 L) under the coffee outlet.
- Follow the specific descaling cycle instructions provided with your descaling kit or on the Nespresso support website.
- After descaling, rinse the machine thoroughly by running several cycles with fresh water.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your machine, consult the table below for common problems and solutions.
