4. Setup and First Use

Follow these steps before using your air fryer for the first time:

  1. Unpack: Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and labels from the appliance.
  2. Clean Components: Wash the Fry Basket and Crisper Tray Insert with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the inside and outside of the Main Unit with a clean, damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the unit on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of space on all sides of the appliance to allow for proper air circulation.
  4. Pre-Heat (Optional): For best results, some users prefer to pre-heat the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at the desired cooking temperature before adding food.

5.1. Basic Operation

  1. Power On: Plug the unit into a grounded electrical outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Prepare Food: Place your ingredients into the Fry Basket, ensuring not to overfill. Insert the Crisper Tray Insert if desired.
  3. Insert Basket: Slide the Fry Basket back into the Main Unit until it clicks securely into place.
  4. Set Temperature and Time:
    • Use the Temperature Control Buttons (+ and - with thermometer icon) to adjust the cooking temperature (up to 400°F).
    • Use the Time Control Buttons (+ and - with clock icon) to set the cooking time (up to 60 minutes).
  5. Start Cooking: Press the Power Button (circle with vertical line) to begin the cooking cycle. The fan and heating element will activate.
  6. Pause/Resume: To pause cooking, pull out the Fry Basket. The unit will automatically pause. To resume, reinsert the basket.
  7. End Cooking: The unit will beep when the set time has elapsed and automatically shut off. Alternatively, press and hold the Power Button to manually turn off the unit.

5.2. Using Preset Programs

The PowerXL Air Fryer Maxx Classic comes with 7 custom presets for common dishes, simplifying your cooking process.

  1. Select Preset: After powering on, press the Mode Button (M icon) repeatedly to cycle through the available presets (e.g., French Fry, Broil/Fish, Chicken, Steak, Roast, Bake, Shrimp).
  2. Automatic Settings: Each preset has a pre-programmed time and temperature. These can be manually adjusted using the Time and Temperature Control Buttons if needed.
  3. Start Cooking: Once the desired preset is selected, the unit will automatically begin cooking after a few seconds, or you can press the Power Button to start immediately.
