Operating Instructions
A. Rear Axle Removal (Flange Type)
- Prepare the vehicle by safely lifting and supporting it. Remove the wheel, brake drum/rotor, and any retaining clips or bolts securing the axle shaft.
- Attach the axle flange yoke to the slide hammer and secure it.
- Position the axle flange yoke over the axle flange studs. Ensure the yoke is seated firmly and evenly against the flange.
- Grip the T-handle of the slide hammer firmly. Slide the hammer weight forcefully towards the T-handle, away from the axle, to create an impact. Repeat this action until the axle shaft is dislodged from the housing.

B. Bearing Removal (Semi-Floating Rear Axle)
The kit includes three bearing puller adapters for various inner diameters:
- Small: 1-1/4" to 1-7/8" IDs
- Medium: 1-5/16" to 2-3/8" IDs
- Large: 1-3/8" to 2-7/8" IDs

- Select the bearing puller adapter that best fits the inner diameter of the bearing to be removed. The adapter should fit snugly inside the bearing.
- Thread the selected adapter onto the slide hammer.
- Insert the adapter into the bearing. Ensure the adapter's jaws are fully engaged behind the bearing race. Some adapters feature an adjustable head for hard-to-reach spaces.
- Using the slide hammer, pull the hammer weight towards the T-handle with firm, consistent strokes until the bearing is extracted.

C. Seal Removal
- Thread the bearing & seal hook onto the slide hammer.
- Carefully position the hook behind the seal to be removed. Ensure the hook has a secure grip on the seal.
- Use the slide hammer to pull the seal out. Apply firm, controlled impacts until the seal is dislodged.
Maintenance
- After each use, clean all components of the tool kit to remove grease, dirt, and debris.
- Apply a light coat of rust-preventative oil to all metal parts before storing.
- Store the tool kit in its original durable storage case to protect components from damage and loss.
- Regularly inspect the slide hammer and adapters for any signs of wear, bending, or cracking. Replace any damaged components immediately.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bearing/Axle not coming out | Insufficient force applied; incorrect adapter size; seized component. | Ensure full, consistent strokes with the slide hammer. Verify adapter fit. Apply penetrating oil to seized components and allow time to work. |
| Adapter slipping | Adapter not fully engaged; incorrect adapter size. | Re-position the adapter to ensure full engagement. Select a different size adapter if necessary. |
| Tool damage | Improper use; excessive force; using tool for unintended purpose. | Review operating instructions. Do not exceed the tool's intended capacity. Replace damaged components. |
