4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your OREI UHDS-202 HDMI Matrix Switcher:

1. Connect HDMI Sources: Connect your HDMI input devices (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console, PC) to the 'INPUT 1' and 'INPUT 2' ports on the rear of the matrix switcher using high-quality HDMI cables.
2. Connect HDMI Displays: Connect your HDMI displays (e.g., TV, monitor, projector) to the 'OUTPUT A' and 'OUTPUT B' ports on the rear of the matrix switcher.
3. Connect Audio System (Optional): If you wish to extract audio, connect your audio receiver or sound system to the 'OPTICAL' port (for digital audio up to 5.1ch) or the 'L/R' 3.5mm jack (for analog stereo audio).
4. Connect Power: Plug the included 5V DC power adapter into the 'DC 5V' port on the matrix switcher, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The power indicator LED on the front panel will illuminate.
5. Initial Power-On: Upon first power-on, the unit will perform a self-test and detect the optimal resolution for your connected displays based on the EDID switch setting.

5. Operating Instructions

The OREI UHDS-202 offers flexible control options for managing your HDMI signals:

Front Panel Controls:

• Power Indicator: Illuminates when the unit is powered on.
• Output A Selector (OUT A 1-2): Press this button to cycle through Input 1 and Input 2 for Output A.
• Output B Selector (OUT B 1-2): Press this button to cycle through Input 1 and Input 2 for Output B.
• EDID Switch (AUTO/STD/COPY):
  • AUTO: The unit will automatically detect the lowest common resolution supported by both connected displays and lock to that resolution.
  • COPY: The unit will copy the EDID information from Output A's connected display.
  • STD: The unit will force both outputs to 1080p resolution.
• IR Receiver: For use with the included remote control.

IR Remote Control:

The remote control provides convenient access to all switching functions from a distance. Point the remote directly at the IR receiver on the front panel of the matrix switcher.

• Power Button: Turns the unit On/Off.
• Output A Buttons (1, 2): Selects Input 1 or Input 2 for Output A.
• Output B Buttons (1, 2): Selects Input 1 or Input 2 for Output B.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your OREI UHDS-202, please follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners, as they may damage the device.
• Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation slots on the sides of the unit are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation. Avoid placing the unit in enclosed spaces without adequate airflow.
• Environment: Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Operate within the recommended temperature and humidity ranges specified in the technical specifications.

• Picture Flickering/Intermittent Signal:

  • Check for any sources of electromagnetic interference.
  • Reduce cable length if possible.
• No Audio:
  • Verify audio connections to your sound system (Optical or L/R).
  • Ensure the audio format from your source is compatible with the extracted audio output (e.g., 2ch stereo/PCM mode for analog output).
  • Check volume levels on your audio system.
• Remote Control Not Working:
  • Ensure the remote has working batteries.
  • Point the remote directly at the IR receiver on the front panel of the matrix switcher.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the IR receiver.
