Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of your Graywind Motorized Hardwired Smart Roller Shade. This shade features 100% blackout capability, is compatible with Alexa and Google Home via WiFi, and includes remote control functionality. Installation

1. Measurement

Accurate measurements are crucial for a perfect fit. Always use a steel tape measure.

For Inside Mount:

• Measure the exact width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest measurement to the nearest 1/16 inch. This will be your order width.
• Measure the exact height of the window opening at the left, middle, and right. Record the smallest measurement to the nearest 1/8 inch. This will be your order height.
• Measure the window frame depth. A minimum depth of 1.87 inches is required for inside mount. If the depth is less than 2.75 inches, the valance may extend beyond the window frame.
• If there are handles or cranks, measure their depth to ensure they do not interfere with the shade's operation.

For Outside Mount:

• Measure the desired width and height to cover the window opening, including any desired overlap. We recommend adding 1 to 6 inches to the window width and height for better light blockage and privacy.

2. Mounting Hardware

The shades come with mounting hardware suitable for both inside and outside mount. Ensure you have the correct brackets and screws for your installation type.

Setup

1. Power Connection

Your Graywind Smart Roller Shade is hardwired and requires a constant power supply (110V-240V). Ensure the shade is properly connected to a power source.

2. Smart Home Integration (Alexa/Google Home)

The hardwired motor supports 2.4G/5GHz WiFi, allowing direct connection to your smart home system without an additional hub.

• Download the Graywind app (or Smart Life app) from your device's app store.
• Follow the in-app instructions to add your shade. This typically involves holding the reset button on the motor until it jogs twice and the blue light flashes, then connecting to your WiFi network.
• Once added to the Graywind app, link your Graywind account to your Alexa or Google Home app.
• Discover devices in your Alexa or Google Home app. Your shade will appear as a controllable device.

3. Remote Control Pairing

The 15-channel timing remote is pre-programmed before shipment. If re-pairing is needed, refer to the remote's specific instructions.

Operating Instructions

1. Voice Control

Once integrated with Alexa or Google Home, you can use voice commands to control your shades. Examples include:

• "Alexa, open the bedroom shades."
• "Hey Google, close the living room blinds."
• "Alexa, set shades to 50%."

2. App Control

Use the Graywind app to control your shades from anywhere. You can:

• Open or close shades to any desired percentage.
• Create groups for simultaneous control of multiple shades.
• Set timing schedules for automatic opening and closing.
• Define favorite positions for quick access.

3. Remote Control

The included 15-channel remote allows for convenient control without needing your phone or voice commands.

• Use the up/down buttons to raise or lower the shades.
• Press the 'Stop' button to halt the shade at any position.
• Utilize the 'Favorite' button to move the shade to a pre-set preferred position.
• Program timing schedules directly from the remote.

4. Product Demonstration

Maintenance

Regular cleaning helps maintain the appearance and longevity of your Graywind shades. Always handle with care.

Cleaning Instructions:

• Dusting: Gently remove dust using a feather duster or a handheld vacuum with a brush attachment. Ensure the shade is fully extended when dusting.
• Spot Cleaning: For partial cleaning, use a well-wrung cloth or sponge dipped in a solution of mild dish-washing detergent and lukewarm water. Gently blot the stained area. Avoid harsh detergents or excessive scrubbing.
• Avoid: Do not use vinyl fabrics or foam coating fabrics with steam irons. Do not use violent treatment or harsh detergents.

Troubleshooting
