2. Safety Instructions
Read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the fan's voltage (115 Volts). All electrical wiring must be performed by a qualified electrician and comply with local electrical codes. Disconnect power before servicing or cleaning the fan.
- Mounting: Mount the fan securely to a stable structure capable of supporting its weight. Ensure proper clearance around the fan for optimal airflow and maintenance.
- Usage Environment: This fan is intended for indoor use in environments such as garages, attics, greenhouses, shops, and chicken coops. Do not use in hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors may be present.
- Protection: Keep fingers and foreign objects away from the fan blades during operation. Install safety grilles if necessary to prevent accidental contact.
3. Product Features
- Automatic Shutters: Integrated shutters open when the fan is operating and close when it is off, providing protection against insects and drafts.
- Durable Construction: Made with corrosion-resistant aluminum shutters and blades for longevity and prevention of rust.
- Enclosed Motor: The motor is fully enclosed, thermally protected, and permanently lubricated, requiring minimal maintenance.
- High Performance: Delivers 940 CFM (Cubic Feet Per Minute) at 1620 RPM for effective air movement.

5. Installation
The iPower Shutter Exhaust Fan comes fully assembled. Only electrical hardwiring is required for installation.
- Choose Location: Select a suitable wall or window opening that can accommodate the fan's dimensions (refer to Figure 4). Ensure the location allows for proper exhaust of air.
- Prepare Opening: Create an opening in the wall or window that matches the fan's dimensions. Ensure the opening is structurally sound.
- Mount Fan: Securely mount the fan into the prepared opening using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the fan is level and firmly attached to prevent vibration and noise.
- Electrical Connection:
- WARNING: Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before making any electrical connections.
- Connect the fan's bare electrical leads to a 115V power supply. Consult a qualified electrician to ensure proper wiring and compliance with all local electrical codes.
- Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Test Operation: Once installed and wired, restore power and test the fan's operation. The automatic shutters should open when the fan is on and close when it is off.

6. Operation
The iPower Shutter Exhaust Fan operates by drawing air from the indoor environment and expelling it outdoors. When power is supplied, the fan blades rotate, and the automatic shutters open. When power is cut, the fan stops, and the shutters close.
- Power On/Off: Control the fan's operation via a connected wall switch or a compatible thermostat (not included).
- Thermostat Integration: For automated temperature control, the fan can be wired to a thermostat (sold separately) to activate when a specific temperature is reached.

7. Maintenance
The iPower Shutter Exhaust Fan is designed for low maintenance. The motor is permanently lubricated and does not require additional oiling.
- Cleaning: Periodically inspect the fan blades and shutters for dust and debris accumulation.
- WARNING: Always disconnect power to the fan before cleaning.
- Use a soft cloth or brush to gently clean the blades and shutter louvers. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the fan's finish or components.
- Inspection: Regularly check mounting hardware for tightness and ensure the fan remains securely installed.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not turn on. | No power supply; loose wiring; faulty switch/thermostat. | Check circuit breaker and power connections. Verify switch/thermostat functionality. Consult an electrician for wiring issues. |
| Fan runs but airflow is low. | Blocked intake/exhaust; dirty blades/shutters. | Ensure no obstructions are blocking the fan. Clean blades and shutters as described in the Maintenance section. |
| Excessive noise or vibration. | Loose mounting; debris in fan blades; damaged motor/blades. | Check and tighten all mounting hardware. Disconnect power and inspect blades for debris or damage. If noise persists, contact customer support. |
| Shutters do not open/close properly. | Debris obstructing shutters; bent shutter louvers. | Disconnect power and carefully remove any debris. Gently straighten any bent louvers if possible. |
