Setup and Installation
The JSOT Solar Spot Lights offer two primary installation methods: in-ground staking and wall mounting.
1. In-Ground Installation
- Assemble the Stake: Connect the pole to the solar light unit. Attach the plastic stake to the bottom of the pole.
- Select Location: Choose a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily to ensure optimal charging. Avoid areas under eaves, trees, or shadows.
- Insert into Ground: Firmly push the assembled light and stake into the soil. Ensure the solar panel is facing upwards towards the sun.
2. Wall Mounting
- Prepare the Unit: Remove the stake and pole from the solar light unit. The light unit has a mounting bracket.
- Mark Drilling Points: Hold the light unit against the desired wall surface and mark the positions for drilling.
- Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the Light: Align the light unit's mounting bracket with the drilled holes and secure it with screws. Adjust the solar panel and light head to the desired angle.

Operating Instructions
Your JSOT Solar Spot Lights are designed for simple operation.
- Initial Activation: Before first use, locate the power button, usually covered by a small flexible tab. Gently remove the tab, press the button to turn the light to the 'ON' position, then replace the tab. Allow the lights to charge in direct sunlight for at least 8 hours.
- Selecting Brightness Mode: Press the power button once for Low Brightness Mode, which provides illumination for up to 12 hours. Press the power button a second time for High Brightness Mode, which provides brighter illumination for up to 6 hours.
- Automatic Operation: Once activated and a mode is selected, the lights will automatically turn on at night and turn off at sunrise, provided the solar panel receives sufficient daylight for charging.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your solar spot lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption.
- Clear Obstructions: Ensure that no objects (e.g., tree branches, tall plants) obstruct the solar panel's exposure to direct sunlight throughout the day.
- Battery Care: While the batteries are designed for long life, extreme temperatures can affect their performance. If storing the lights for an extended period, ensure they are fully charged.
- Seasonal Adjustment: In winter or during periods of reduced sunlight, the lights may not charge fully, resulting in shorter illumination times. Adjust the panel angle if possible to maximize sun exposure.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your solar spot lights, refer to the following common solutions:
- Light Does Not Turn On:
- Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position. If the switch is covered by a flexible tab, gently remove it to access the switch, adjust, and then replace the tab.
- Verify the solar panel is receiving direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily.
- Clean the solar panel surface to remove any dirt or debris.
- Check if the light sensor is obstructed or if there are other light sources nearby that might prevent the light from activating at night.
- Short Illumination Duration:
- The solar panel may not be receiving enough sunlight for a full charge. Relocate the light to a sunnier spot or clear any obstructions.
- Cloudy or rainy weather can reduce charging efficiency, leading to shorter lighting times.
- Battery capacity may decrease over time. While batteries are included and designed for durability, their performance can degrade after extended use.
